Big Bear - Nov 5,6,7 weekend?

For the run itself I wouldn't worry about chains, I don't own a set myself, but you might need them to get up the mountain, I'm not sure if they will be requiring them. I'll be heading up that way Friday after work, if chains are required I plan to go around the backside of the mountain (through Yucca Valley) and going up via 2N02 (easy trail).

I'll see if I can dig up some pics of me backpacking in the snow. BRRRRR

Next weekend I'm either going to PV Days or Owens Valley + I'll be gone all of Thanksgiving week so I need to get some shit done around the house + I've got offers on that d44 that I may have to take care of + Sunday is the NAXJA Chap meeting.

Who is driving up Saturday for a day trip? I am planning on leaving Costa Mesa around 6:45, stop and get a coffee, then zoon down the 55 --->>> 91/215 --->>>to 10 and so on. Anyone want meet up and convoy up the hill?

Robert

Things to do before Sat:
- Install rock rails
- Install t-case skid
- charge batteries for CB and digital camera
- load tools, fire ext., & first aid kit (extra blanket)

Robert If I go I'll be driving up Saturday morning. I could meet you around the 55/91.

I'm also planning to go Saturday morning for the day. I can meet up with you guys.

Cool! 55/91 intersection....I don't the exits over there, but I know there are a couple of fast food places and gas stations. We can meet at one of them around 7:15 - 7:30?? Anyone know of a place to meet, right off the freeway over there?

Thanks,

Robert

Johnny you'll be coming up the same route right? Let me figure out a spot and I'll post it up.

Yeah, I'll be going tht route. I know there's a Coco's, Carl's Jr. and gas station at the Green River exit on the 91. I've used that as a meeting point before.

I wish I could make it, but lift won't be in my hands until Tuesday or Wed. I may try to make the m&g, though, in my stocker (for now).

Great place to meet in that area is BofA/Von's parking lot at Imperial and Santa Ana Canyon (two exits BACK from the toll road, which isn't bad). Get off at Imperial, go right. Pass the first light (50 yards) and pull in the first right. We use it all the time for mtn bike trips and it works well. Food, money, coffee all right there.

Good spot. Easy off/easy on. What time?

How about 7:00 AM at the gas station at Green River exit of the 91? We can wiat until about 7:15 or so then head out. That shoudl give us plenty of time.

Ivan Aby - I am sure you can ride shotgun with somebody. Heck, I will be alone and will have a seat, if you want it? Or anybody else for that matter. Having a co-pilot on my first run would be kind of nice.

Thanks,

Robert

Hey Robert,

Thanks for the invite to spot for ya but I've already blocked out that night knowing that A) I wouldn't be lifting like I thought I would and B) my stocker wouldn't make it up John Bull).

Thanks again, bro. Much appreciated. It looks like I will be at the m&g with any luck.

See ya then.
