Best Places for Scenic Wheeling

Anyone know if BFG ATs are good in lava?
:wierd:
No, for that you need to get the BFG Mauna Loa AT. It has a special compound rubber to deal with the higher temps associated with wheeling on molten lava.

Never tried it, but I would think AT's would be good on smooth (pahoehoe) lava. I would think that the rough aa lava would have great traction but would shread your tires quickly regarless of type. You get both types of flows in places were lava is prevalent like southern Idaho.

"Pahoehoe has a smooth, billowy, ropy surface and has at times been likened to the surface texture of a pan of chocolate brownies. On the other hand, `a`a has a rough, jagged and clinkery surface." http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/volcanowatch/1999/99_05_27.html

I think somebody might have missed the joke,...
