Thats a good question that id like to know myself!!
Im also shopping for a newer styled XJ in good shape since there easier to find in better condition & one that hasnt been wrenched on too. Theres one near me at a dealer that has 68k on the clock & mint for 5,9k. Thinkin about walkin in with 4.8k in cash & see if they'll take it.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE AD!! This car has issues which I am told is a easy fix. About a week ago it started smoking out the tail pipe which I was told is a oil leak and there is two little knocks in the engine when you first turn the car on in the mornings, was told this could be as minor as a lose fuse. Plus little qurks (it is a 92) I just dont have time to deal with it. I am open to offers but I will NOT GO UNDER $500.

I am looking for a bone stock 99 XJ. I like to do the wrenching myself, and it's going to be more a dd than a crawler. I'm not really interested in anything that's been wheeled-even at the mall...

Of course it is not cheap.

Any idea how much labor it takes to build a custom, one off, Dana 35 Front Axle?

You would think...

I paid $2500 for my Heep at the local Stealership a year and a half ago. Late models are spendy, and I was looking for a 98. 97s are the red headed step child as too many parts are unique to them. Had one... Learned from the experience...

Older ones can be had in the low to mid hundreds if you shop around.

Looking for a DD or run-around truck? This looks to be a helluva good deal and I know where some rear axles can be found.

The guy e-mailed me more info - claims the interior shows wear, but no holes/tears - dash is perfect, everything works, body good.

Said he'd send pics later....... :dunno:

If I had the cash, I'd have cruised up there already..... :banghead:
