Aussie Locker coming for the 8.25

If aussie is reading this, you need to find another manufacturer for your broaching tools. While gearmaking is a precise science, building a stick broach takes about as long as it just took me to type this post when you are dealing with someone that knows what they're doing.

I have ordered broaching tools with much more complex profiles than a 29 spline 8.25 has and have never waited more than 4 weeks for a stick broach.

Either you are dealing with the world's slowest broach tool manufacturer or you are just using the tooling as an excuse for something else.

We sent your email to our broach supplier and asked them for a comment. We have never received a broach from them in less than 16 weeks, so if you would be kind enough to share with us the name of your broach supplier we will send them the drawings for two new models and give them a shot at it.

We hate losing business while we wait for suppliers, so our interests will also be served if we can find a supplier that meets the accuracy and reliability standards and can supply in a fraction of the time.

Seriously, love yer product, but it has been like dating a Catholic Virgin waiting on you to come up with the goods. Is it just that there aren't enough 8.25 axles out there to make this worth-while? It's not just you. Nobody loves us 29 spline 8.25 owners.

We have had a lot of business reasons why our new product development has been delayed significantly, and for the most part we were making significant investments in capital equipment to produce enough Aussie Lockers to meet demand. Then we had a false start in the production of this model in the Spring and that put it behind some other models. We have developed the model and done beta testing so it will be coming out in the Spring of 2008.

Did you *read* the thread? There was an initial setup that started production and had some tooling problems, they had to get a new slightly different broach done. Thats the false start he's talking about.

Isn't the 29 spline 8.25 the same application in the Dodge Dakota, Jeep Liberty and new Grand cherokee? I'm also pretty sure there are other models that use or will be using the 29 spline 8.25.

How much of a market is needed.
