ANybody know civics?

Didn't know where to post this, and all the civic forums SUCK as far as responding/knowledge of anything technical.

I rearended someone in my friends 96 dx going about 20mph. Car runs fine, little damage, until the other day when the SRS light came on. SInce there are so many different civics out there, seems like I can't get a straight answer on how to reset the light. She needs to get the car inspected this weekend and want to know my options.

Can ANYONE help me? This is teh only place I have left to turn and you guys are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to anything. So PLEASE HELP!!

This was the first thing I came across. Seems that this is only applicable to 2000+ civics, as there was no yellow connector that I could see under the dash. Maybe its a different color for a '96?

Yeah, everything I am reading says its the MES connector. (Yellow Plug) Even links specifically for 1996 Civic DX Like this one:

It also mentions that some have said the MES connector is a GREEN plug by the hood release...

Yea after further searching, I found that it is definitely applicable to the year also. I hope it is this easy of a fix. Is it possible that I broke something in the system? Like I said before, it came on a day or so after the accident, but had little damage beside the hood latch being stuck.
