Amazing (or dumb) Cross Country Road Trip

I think the problem is, if I take his Jeep he's got no way to get there... if I'm reading that right...

No, I can get there fine. I'm riding with Cal out there Wed.

The problem is you're leaving from LA on Tuesday morning. My Jeep is in San Diego and I work Monday and Tuesday. Don't see any way of getting my Jeep to you in LA before you leave. I'd have to drive it up to you a day or two before you leave while someone follows me in the car, and then get a ride back to San Diego. Then take the car back up to LA to get a ride out with Cal (like planned)

Not to mention the $$$ factor I'm already chipping in for gas with Cal, I'm not sure it's worth it for me to chip in on gas on two vehicles, plus the cost of getting my Jeep to LA, and getting ar ide back.

Also, driving my Jeep on 35's for 12 hours back from Moab with little to no AC doesn't sound like that much fun.

I'm out. But it was a nice option.

Thanks for the offer.

I was thinking he was hitching a ride, but now remember he was just going to drive his car. oops :wierd:

I am hitching a ride. But it would take too much time and money to get my Jeep to LA the day before I was going to head to LA to hitch a ride and chip in on both vehicles.

Nevermind! :D

Thanks for the offers anyway.

If I had guaranteed tow back, I might try, but my Jeep isn't street-registered at the moment.

I drove mine on 33's with stock gears from New York in April. I think you'll be fine... :peace:

Haha over2land, this sounds like a fun, cool trip! Please have a blast and stay safe out there, and pull over if you get tired. Getting where you want to be a bit later than planned is MUCH better than wrapping the Jeep around a tree because you wanted to gain an hour or so at 2 am.

Good luck man, and how cool that you offered to motor folks' stuff around! This is why I love the club!

:)

Thanks Swerly. Hell yeah on the pull over and sleep thing. I'm not aiming for some kind of time record here... I'm aiming for 7000 miles in 14 days successfully.
