I've been reading all the threads on track bars...And even more confussed on which one to get...I don't have alot of money and I only wheel once in a while...Which one can I get by with if I go to BADLANDS once a month and use it on the street every day?...Ones with cheap tie rod ends need not apply...Need one for 3 inch lift and up...Planning on going higher in FAR future...I'm a poor XJ owner...Help me...

You are going to have to pay if you want to get one without a TRE. So unless you find a used one or fab it yourself, probably have to start saving. Personally a track bar is not something you want to skimp on anyways. Can't go wrong with the JKS unit.

For the use you are describing and if you're on a budget, I think you should change your parameters. Rusty's adjustable with the tie rod end will do what you need. Wheeling it once a month or so will certainly kill his original tie rod end within the first year. So for $12 or $15 you get a Moog replacement from NAPA and then you're good for another couple of years. When you go higher, you can convert to the heavy duty version by buying just the frame bracket and end fitting to replace the tie rod end. No need to buy an entire new track bar.

If you're not wheeling it that hard or often and money is a real issue, you could always relocate the hole and use the stock bar. I did this on my 88 and it worked fine until I saved the money for an adjustable trac bar. Right now I'm pretty happy with my Rubicon Express bar.

I did the redrill thing on bottom bracket...Made 97 XJ steering wheel spoke with CC strait up making turning signal not work right...Went back to stock hole...What RE do you have CJOHNSON? I read about Rusty's bar and it come with a factory jeep replacement TRE #52005740...They don't use Moog anymore...I will upgrade if I get Rusty's bar in future...I heard there is problems with those type of mounts they crack the frame/unibody and they break and get loose over time...Let me know guys...Have a good one...see ya on the trails...

I've got 6" and 33's with the Teraflex adjustable trac bar. I've had it about a year and it works great with no problems. It bolts into the factory location, is about twice as thick as stock and has a huge adjusting sleeve in the middle to center the axle. It doesn't much easier.

I've looked into those too...does the adjustable sleeve interfer with anything?...You got a 6 inch lift I only got a 4 inch lift so don't know if it will interfer with any other stock component...those are the kind of Q/?'s that are confussing me on what and what not to get...don't want to waste money...Thanks again...

I started with a 4.5" lift and short arms. The adjusting sleeve doesn't come into contact with anything, even when the axle is twisted up on an obstacle. You do have to really crank the bolts down tight to keep it from working loose, but once there, I haven't had to even look at it. I think it was about $150 at MEPCO Jeep.

There on sale for $134.96 on tha site...The Factory looking TRE is that one really beefy...if it wears out...will i have to buy a whole new tara flex trackbar? It isn't replaceable is it?

I would say save your money and get the RE HD trac bar, mount and brace. Stout set up, but kinda pricey, but well worth it.

Do you know if that end conversion will work on the RE1600 also?
