A thought...

You guys read my post about Russ Fulmer dying. I know that none of you knew him but I can tell you that in the SL valley his name was pretty well known for his generosity and such.

It has came to my attention that he didn't have much for insurance and now his wife doesn't know where to turn. After talking to some of the local non-naxja wheelers that know him well, they are thinking of putting on some kind of a memorial run to help raise money for his family.

What if we were to put the word out to RME and other locals about our Geostash run and put say...half of what we were going to give to the Cannan mtn fund toward his family. I know its a gamble but we might raise a ton more money.

I like it. We could announce that proceeds will go toward Russ' family and the Cannan mountain fund. We will need to keep some of the money made to help pay for the Christmas party and hopefully leave a few hundred in the account, but the majority could be donated.

I'm not. I could do it if no one else is, but someone with a postcount of more than 1 may get a better response.

If this is what we want to do, I will do it. The U4 BOD is kind of up in arms about using their funds for a donation. Kinda stupid of them but what can you do? Do you want me to propose it on that BOD forum as well? We need to hear from Steve on this too.

Mainly at Todd Adams for failure to follow through with projects and Todd has pretty much called Steve out for bullying members. Todd is blaming Steve for all the BOD members and volunteers who have quit recently. So Steve has his panties in a bunch and is having a tantrum. Personally, I'm fed up with all the bullshit going on over there and all the in fighting. Most of it, as far as I can tell, instigated by Steve Jackson.

Last year we did pretty good, partly due to generous extra donations by those who attended.

With donating to Russ' family and Cannan Mtn would we make an effort to have more non-naxja people attend this year? If we can post up on RME and the salt lake jeep list (what ever it's named) that might help bring in more people. Could even put up flyers in local auto parts and 4x4 shops

When asking for donations for raffle prizes we can list the cause the money will support.
