Hi Guys,
I finally did some more thorough investigating on my friend's 99, and the "cool" heat issue is definitely the blend door.
The door itself was only opening a little over half way so it *was* working, just not fully. I pulled the motor off and tried my best to get some graphite lube up in it...then some wd-40. it now opens *just about* the whole way. It's still binding somewhat, and is not opening FULLY.
Ideally, what i'd like to do is cut into the bottom of the ductwork and try to lube up/remove/repair the door. There must be someone out there who knows how to make the right cuts to get at the door without tearing everything up, because there is a place that sells the replacement door/kit for $120. Link= http://www.heatertreater.net/jeep Cherokee 97-04.html
They mention templates of where to cut and all that stuff, so I'm really HOPING that someone who sees this post knows how to go about doing this. I don't want my friend to have to spend $120 if there is any way possible to fix/rig this myself. Please post any info or help, Thanks!!
