Some of you seem to be saying that the cop should have subdued her some other way. Explain to me, please, what other way could have been better than a what she got? Should he have forced her arms behind her back and slammed her head on the hood? Perhaps he could have spear tackled her. Maybe even a good night stick beating, we havent seen that in a while. Seriously, at the point she was tazed she was trying to leave the scene. Maybe he should have let her go and then chased her. That would have made for some cool video. Tazers have their dangers, yes, but so does any other form of subduing someone. I would imagine it is extremely painful, but except in the rarest of cases it is fairly harmless. If you think about it, that was probably the safest and most humane way of settling the situation. Some of you will see any action taken by the law in almost any situation as an abuse of force, but I see it as the dark side of an already stressful job. Trust me, I have had my fill of the power drunk abusive cop, and I learned the hard way that there are better ways of dealing with things than to try to pick a fight with them. At any rate, she was disobeying a simple law, and there were far better ways to deal with the situation than throwing a temper tantrum trying to push the limits of the cops compassion for the elderly. Do you think the cop WANTED to taze a 72 year old woman?? Do you think he woke up that morning and said geez, i wonder what kind of screwed up shit i can do today. I know, lets go taze grandma, that would be awesome!! NO, he didnt. Im sure he gets shit from every angle every day now, but in his mind he did the right thing. And if you don't like it, may i suggest you go to school, put on a uniform, and see just how much shit you are willing to put up with yourself.
