Tire Rack says that my tire wont be in until 6/16 so it looks like I am out again this year.

If all you need is a spare I am sure we can accomodate (via pandabear and others) but because you were smart and got MT/Rs I am sure you'll be fine.

Really hoping you can attend, after not making it last year either. It will be worth it!

what time is "Friday evening" when you guys are hitting prison hill? I want to run it with you guys but I get off work at like 2 if I'm lucky haha

We haven't set an exact time. I would like to arrive there before dusk and the members last year said they'd like to make it more of a night run as well. I'm guessing we'll probably leave camp between 6 and 7pm.

I should be clear. Blew a sidewall out because the Treadwright tires where the tread is still in good condition and held up very well on my 31's, being retreads the sidewalls are old and giving out.

After asking here I decided to go with MT/R Kevlar but they were on back order and Goodyear pushed the release date to 6/16.

So I need 4 tires, and I am waiting.

Yes, I feel a Reno jinx (if I believed in such things) happening. The bottom line is, even though I will miss you guys again this year when my tires are in and with the axels I picked up last year my rig will be where my original plan was to take it.

Watch out...i ordered some a while back through 4wheelparts and they were telling me the same thing, and that was months ago. I switched my tire choice to km2s and got them next day.

Thank you for the warning. I am a little scared about that too as I don't want to be waiting around half the short summer wheeling time waiting for the tires.

Yea i think whats going on is they are discontinuing them for a newer version

If you picked up a cheap/used 31"er to replace the one that blew out, would your set then be road-worthy enough to get you here? While it would be nice to have those 33's, you can wheel here on 31's no problem.

Alright , everyone else interested post up so we can figure this out. I could possibly wait that long, but was planning on trying to leave sacto around 11-2pm time frame depending on the work the XJ needs.

Jake are you camping at the campground? Or staying at moon rocks again?

Lets see who posts up what times. Maybe a few caravans can head up.

If rudolph leaves pleasanton at noon or later he wont be up into your neck of the woods util 2:30 I would imagine.


I might just wait for you guys and work on the cage on the rig until late thursday night and early friday morning. I could head up the hill and wait for you in auburn or something If I get done early.


also if my ball joints don't fix my steering I might be working on other stuff until the last minute.

That works. We could have a meet up at my place for anyone interested, and then catch up with Jake off why 80 in rocklin or auburn.


Prison Hill is going to be real fun on Friday guys .


We are camping maybe 15-20 minutes outside of Reno, Theres a city a few exits up the freeway with a walmart and a bunch of restaurants, we could get to camp, unload, settle in, and then head into town to walmart or wherever and grab some burgers or sandwiches and any extra supplies .
