please keep you eyes open for 44's,I need a ford hp44 or a waggy44 to start building up. I am going to start looking to see what is available, what they cost and decide wich unit I'm gonna go with. I know some of you guys come across these unit from time to time. Thanks,Xjoe

Wow I looked at a couple local yards today, couldn't find a suitable axle.I only found a 74 w/drums. Oh well I didn't expect to find a pile of 44's,I'm gonna look in tacoma tommorow.

Dont discount drum brake axles. Mine originally had drum brakes, which were swapped out with disc's when the flat top knuckes were put on.
I am just not sure what I had. I geuss I am ok from 70-76.A little input if you can- the 74 had mounts for the coilprings & the I-beam,are these the one's that can be removed?

let me know when you want to come over here to the eastside and get a couple million D44's, they're everywhere.

The 44 in the rear has 160k,it has been regeared, new bearing, seals and full detroit.I'm keeping it. I am looking for a 44 for the front.I want to run 36's,have manual hubs, lower gears ect...

yes, the '74 radius arm mounts are welded on, and therefore can be removed without retubing.

Edit: here is a link for Jes' axle built out of a 73

I have a couple of Waggy fronts from 80 up without disconnect and drivers drop. Let me know if you are interested, I can get flattops and 5 on 5 1/2 hubs if you like.

thanks,I found a waggy44 locally.I am interested in what parts i need for high steer & converting to 5 on 5.5. I currently have a xj44 in the rear and I think it would be easier to convert it to 5 on 5.5 than to the stock waggy 6 lug.
