4.5 -4.6- 4.7 STROKER MOTORS

i had the valve cover off for a new gasket last month and inspected for the browning/cracking..didnt see anything...the knock is real low in the motor...not high like a lifter..it accelerates with the throttle and is near the back close to the tranny..like in the cylinder 6 region..ok so i will go with the 94..and just use the 00 intake manifold...

again thanks for the advice..today is tear down the 94 day..we'll have to see what i find...hmm fun...

I'm glad you told me that. It's just possible that if you have the AW4, the flexplate bolts could be loose causing the knocking that you described. Remove the bellhousing inspection cover and check them out.

Dr. Dyno...are you referring to the 4 bolts that bolt the torque converter to the flywheel or the 5-6 bolts that tie the flywheel into the crankshaft..

i pulled the flywheel last week to see if it was that t-converter bolts and they were still tight..

if you are referring to the other bolts how do i go about checking them with the motor and tranny in if that is possible..

Dr. Dyno! I want to say thank you for your write-ups! I have been using them to do my stroker build and they have helped tremendously! The casting info and cam sproket info for a '00 was good to know. I would like to get your email info if I could to help speed along some questions I might have in the near future.

As far as the flex plate question goes. I am experiencing a similar issue and would love a deeper explaination on how to check it. Can anyone help?
