my experience of late is that most of the craftsman wrenches that come in packs are made in china. Indiviual wrenches tend to be US made.

I know that doesn't matter to everyone. but I figured Id share anyway.

Most of my tools are craftsman only thing I've had issues with is a craftman jack the doesn't lift near its rating. Gotta get high quality Chinese for jacks I guess... HF :D
That said I do take it lightly on my gear wrenches I always break things loose before using them and finish tightening with something else.

Seems to be a mixed bag. One reviewer said his sets were made in the U.S. another said China.

Still carries the same warranty and 38 reviewers gave them 5 stars with only 3 giving 1 star.

Any more our tools and equipment has parts from all over the globe. As long as the company behind them stands behind their product I'll continue to use them.

Sears as of late has gotten a little worse on their tool exchange. Hopefully it's just my local store. Next round of breakage I'll try the larger store north of me.

If you don't care about country of origin, stuff from danaher tools are good. Brands include gearwrench, and KD, along with the non supercombo williams. If you want US made, Williams Supercombos are really nice but about 80 bucks a set. Craftsman is a lost cause. You can always find older craftsman at swap meets and what not.

If you watch for sales, you can get the long pattern gearwrench sets both metric and sae from 8mm-5/16" up to 1 1/4" for about 120ish.
