I was referring to anyone really, I've seen all the writeups for explorer, dakota, s-10 BB's for the rear, but haven't seen anything about what you guys are using for the front springs, kinda want it to sit level...

aftermarket coils are cheap enough that making your own or using some out of a vehicle that is heavier (netting a crappy ride) isnt worth it... IMHO

If you read a couple pages post back you will find out that I choose RE3.5 for the front. I recommend going with after market coils from a sponsor here on NAXJA. I went with fullsizexj for my RE3.5 coils new u bolts etc.. and a RE track bar.

Awesome info from everyone that posted. I'm in the proccess of converting page one to a PDF, anyone that wants a copy can post up their emails (or pm me) and I will send it out. It's a 7MB file ;)

Questions though, It can't be as simple as adding the parts for the suspension and driving away can it? What about driveline angles, steering system angles? Brake lines (I think that was covered by using wrangler lines) and other things like wheel alignments?

Obviously it's not that easy... this is just an cheap way to do one part of what's all entailed in a lift. You'll need to get a trackbar bracket/adjustable trackbar/or redrill the mount to keep your axle centered, as well as lengthen your brakelines (buy longer ones, or relocate the existing ones) and get longer shocks or make some BPE's or something. But it all depends how much lift you want obviously with 2" and you won't have the same issues that a 4.5" will have.

Ok, the longer shocks I get. Trackbar somewhat eludes me. Don't even know what a BPE is.

Still new to this, don't even HAVE an XJ yet (have to get my 240sx sold first) and am trying to absorb as much as possible so I know what I'll be dealing with down the road. I think I'd want to be in the 4-6" lift range (obviously there's a bigg diff between 4-6 but I haven't decided whether to run 33's or 36's). But thanks for the info.

Bastard Pack flex: S10 Leafs. There is still a little more but I am at the top of the rock.

I'm hoping I'll be able to get 7.5" of lift between a bastard pack and a 1.5" shackle. Already have the 4.5" RE (expected 5.5") front coils and 2" poly spacers.

If you want that much, you will run into the same problem I did going for 6.5". (read link for problems)

I ended up with more like 7" doing this, and the ride and flex is better than most lift packs. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=901160

Best of all... it's still a bastard!
