Zips 2.0 My 98 build

If you're building a wheeling ...
The bottom line is eventually you're going to need gears

This is true but I don't want to do any gearing yet I don't have the funds. I believe I can do it as I am a machinist and spend time adjusting gears furring repairs. It all comes down to cost

I should also add that it's not all that bad with 3.55s and 33s. I think I'll live with it for a while.

**** you centering pin

I had wanted to rebuild the pack I guess it's time....

Avoid rubicon express centering pins. Mine were properly torqued and installed as were the u bolts thoughs are fine.

Time for tons.

I doubt it was the pins fault. More likely axle wrap and/or loose ubolts. I still have the RE pins in their 3.5" pack in black jeep. Its been apart multiple times and I've reused the pin every time. I have a traction bar and UBE's.

I want to know why its wrapping so bad then?

Im on beat 33s, welded rear? Is that what is doing it? I mean Im pissed, Im also going to 5/16 grade eight.

Bross question?

How tough is a dana 50? It seems like it could be a poor mans 60? Id imagine without a vacume line hooked up the bearings would work like a hub? they are comon and cheap in the U pull I am finding my self in.

Leafs have wrap, they all do. Its beats the shit outta stuff, I've tossed a few shafts and yokes in my old red jeep because wrap.

d50 is like a 44/60 hybrid. I don't know about the vac hubs, the only superduty hubs I messed with were just unit bearings with a simple twist dail lockout. Unless its like free, why bother? Its not hard to find $200 HP60's around here.

Why even go to tons right now? It's not like you're blowing up axles and shit every trip, you're breaking shit you probably put together wrong or never retightened. It's been said to you at least a dozen times by people who've been wheeling a long time, keep it simple stupid. Most of the guys on here who have big axles and big tires wheel less often than those with cheap beater rigs.

sorry dude but your nowhere near ready to go 60's, stop putting things together like shit, your ubolts probaly came loose, its always good to nut and bolt everything after each run to prevent shit like that from happening, also stop wheeling like a dooshbag, they no reason for you to be bending the drag link on 33's

Its funny because Pat said it.

Theres nothing wrong with buying axles now. Hell, I had my 60 before I even built my old 30 with WJ stuff and goodies. I wheeled, broke, and fixed it while building the 60 on the side

I think I'll do this.
14b and 60, reasonable to build, Detroit rear, lunchbox front.

Rob I get what your saying, I haven't had any issues after the drag link, this was most likely what Ross said.
