YJ steering in an XJ?

I have heavy duty coils in the front. I believe the springs are similiar to the up country springs. My dad's friend owns a spring shop and i told him i wanted heavier duty suspension, so he ordered new leafs and coils. The coils are bigger diameter wire than stock and it raised my suspension up about 2 inches from stock. I dont believe that the lift has anything to do with it hitting though. I dont mean to make that sound like i am arguing or anything, im just explaining my thoughts. The inverted T steering from the YJ on my jeep is all "un-sprung" weight. so it would not matter where my axle is positioned because the tie rod goes directly from one knuckle to the other. Do you think there are differences between the mounting brackets (track bar and steering shock) on newer dana 30's and older ones? Could that be my problem? Does anybody have pictures of the YJ steering on an XJ? Thanks again for your help guys, i really appriecate it!

YJ's dont have a trackbar so the tie rod doesnt have a "kick" in it like the XJ does.

The actual tie rod tube hits the bolt.

The YJ i took the steering off of had a track bar on it. I didnt think they did have them because of the leaf front suspension, but it had one and looked factory. I should do a parts search and see if i can find a track bar for a YJ just for kicks.

I wanted to put the stock YJ steering on my 2000 XJ because when i put the plow on it, it would be less stressful on the front suspension. Less stress being it would not change my toe in when the front end is lowered down (about 1.5") because of the plow weight. All the big big trucks have a tie rod going from knuckle to knuckle, why not all the Jeeps? What was the purpose or theroy behind the inverted Y steering?

You bought a junk yard version of Crusty's steering
It's going to hit the track bar bolt no matter what, and RCP... YJ's DO have track bars

Some, not all,it depended on the year!
