Yet another... Build thread for an xj on 40s and one tons in norcal

Sounds good!!! Kindof random, but while researching hydroassist, there is also hydro brake assist, which is pretty cool if you have big tires

GM has incorporated hydroboost in their trucks for years, in case you idn't already know that.

I think the sway bar and stiffer deavers in the rear will pretty much do it. But I have so many things ahead of those projects. anyone want to come over and install some leaves while I do other crap on my rig ? LOL

made some quick and dirty leaf clamps today.
worked the MJ for a while.
had a brake line made for the pass side front- the one on there was all kinked up from not being clocked right. I am using that old one as a trail spare replaced the banjo bolt and washers too.

pulled the bumper off and tightened all the bumper bolts- they were all loose. The rear 40" tire was bouncing around and making the whole jeep bounce on the road last Con run. So we pulled the tire off. that did not seem like enough. So took some 3/8 angle iron and cut it down and plated behind the pass side (where it was moving around when we checked) the PO had hacked up that area and it was sort of falling apart. I am also going to build some plating that goes from the trailer hitch to the bumper and bolts on .

220 just torches sheet metal. tried to weld up all the cracked stuff along the back to the plating. its strong as heck but looks like crap.

installed my Sway bar- AKA PAC coils.
so the sway bar wont work. the trackbar mount in front of the pass side coil will make it crazy hard to add a sway bar. so i removed the RE 5.5" coils and installed the PACs. that should help on the freeway.

whats left before SF:
remove the rest of the tcase.
cut cross member down about 1" for the tranny mount portion to drop it in prep for the atlas.
get atlas hopefully thurs or friday.
install atlas and shifters.
I have a pile of 5 driveshafts. the stock front is perfect since it already over extended a few inches so it will get back to normal. the rear has room to go, but Josh hooked me up with a rear DS that is 2" longer.

then just test drive it and hope it drives .

Damn thing is coming along so rad!

Yeah you were the one who noticed the rear all broken and cracked to hell near the bumper . This should fix it and the gusseting to the hitch should really
Prevent more from happening

atlas went from shipping today to shipping possibly anytime between tomorrow and the 15th.

all new respect for what a big cherokee can look like. great to see this ride in person today. and pics dont do the beauty justice!

thanks man.

not an atlas, but a sweet new toy is coming tomorrow. looking forward to this thing in the garage and on the trail. also ordered the 1/4" drive version. Gordon loves these and everything I read online is like amazing about them.

Iv got a dewalt impact drill that i have a 3/8 and 1/2 impact driver for. Works great for oil pans and lug nuts, but its only good for 125ftlbs. Im looking for something to replace an air impact since I dont have a huge onboard air system and my compressor at home can not keep up with even small impacts
