XJ44 for sale

I have a Dana 44 from the rear of an 87 XJ. I have drum covers but they're extremely rusted. I was going to use it with my HP30 but plans changed when I found a set of Waggy 44s. There were some fine bits of metal inside when I first inspected it, but I had plans to rebuild with new gears anyway.

What gears are in it and is there any play in the pinion bearings at all? Thanks.

I believe it has the stock 3.55 gears in it. I didn't count the teeth but I'd bet on 3.55s. Like I said before I found what seemed to be a little bit of metal in it so one would be wise to regear and clean it out.

There is no up & down play in the pinion.
