Hi I am posting a few pics for my friend who has owns White Rhino Fab in MS and has done the first to my knowledge other than superiors super 35 truss the first dana 35 truss - it is one piece but in the future for easibility it will be 2 or 3 pieces welded together - WRF made it for a buddy who who was twisting axle tubes due to traction bar. It is 3/16 and dimple died! It is a weld on unit.

* mods - i have no intention of commercial buisness - this is simply a common axle with cherokee's and I know a few people on here might be interested in a 35 truss. The owner will shortly be posting on here and will cordinate with the rules as a potential vendor. If this post does not comply then i will just post pics and those interested in one can contact him via phone or email through whiterhinofab.com

Seems like a lot of time and money to spend a a D35. But, to each his own.

How are the u-bolts going to go on with the truss covering their spot?

BTW, I want to see pics of the MJ that it is going into.

X2, cant see how the U bolts are gonna work. Nice fab work though.

well the story on the 35 is that my friend was having the tubes spin in the chunk due to the tracition bar (bad axle wrap) so chris at wrf made the truss to prevent this, made some new tractionbar brackets (it nice to have a cnc table!) and we were going to get the jeep running with the 35 so my bud could go on a ride with a local club. but, he ended not getting the gears set up in time...

yes it is overkill and perhaps a lot for the turdy5 but if we the truss was on there first, then added SOA perches and then track bar brackets and welded tubes this would have been prevented and he woulda been rollin! the 35 was on 35 inch bfg's with 4.88 gears and open diff - like every one says every jeep is different - the owner of WRF has a YJ on 35 gumbos and it has 4.10 open diff and no problems (no trac bar though) so anyways build it once right and forget about it - oh and the owner of the 35 has plenty of shafts:yelclap:

If it's running thru cad and a CNC machine, he should take the time to make it hug around the center diff a little more closely. No real reason other than it'd look alot better.

How much for one of these beasts? Narrowed to clear in an XJ of course. Hell, I'd even take it unbent and unwelded.

i think it was spaced some around diff b/c he was going to add a diff cover tie in to truss - this can be used as well for adding links on top (if u were to link a 35!) but you get the idea - it is the first one he has done so the design has a fat lip for a tab for a diff cover tie in

price wise? this is the first! we talked about a price but i would contact him so he can cut it out weld it and send it out. shoot, if you have a welder we even talked about a DIY weld on truss kit - like the one featured but you weld together. everything is saved so modifying the file is no problem - i have my XJ so we can take the spring perch measurements and modify the truss

chris, the owner is trying to get on the board here and once on he can cordinate as a vendor and go from there

pm sent

i just got off the phone with Chris - 185 fully welded and narrowed some to fit XJ width for spring perches -> about 200-210 shipped depending on location

*mods - the owner of WRF will be getting on tonight on naxja so we can cordinate in a more suitable commercial buisness - i am only posting for him until he is registered. this post will probally need to be moved after he can get on. thanks you.

Not to bash on your buddy or hurt is buisness plan, but at that shipped price you can get a boneyard 8.8 with 4:10s, LS, and disk brakes.

Which is a better way to spend the money than on a truss for the weakest axle around. If you are ordering this "kit" than you must have the knowledge on welding. Why not just burn some new perches on a 8.8? Or drop another $100 for a XJ D44.

very true and granted a few more bills would equal a better axle but if you have gears lockers etc in the 35 like our friend did this will definatly keep the tubes from spinning and stiffen up the housing - he plans on building more trusses for other axles - this is the first one we did and it happened to be for a 35

Thats the epitomy of a polished turd. not to mention that FWICT his welds are not very pretty.
waste of good money.

yeah sorry i tend to agree with the polished turd idea..... 8.25 rears are cheap and bolt in, even a 27 spline is stronger then the 35, 8.8's are cheap though they require a little work they have comparable strength to a 44, and my xj 44 cost me 250 and it bolted in, there are just so many better options. I mean i ran a d35 for awhile and i have friends who run them and theyre fine but i wouldn't put a dollar extra money into it..... just my 2cents

oh come on guys you could grind it smooth it body fill it and candy it out etc but this is the first one and it is a truss thats goona get knocked anyhow

sheesh its like pirate over here

when have welds on a 4x4 been super pretty anyways>? he can run a good bead but it is MIG not tig - they look better in person and "truss" me they are well penetrated and it is done right IF you wanted to beef up a 35

the welds are done with a millermatic box so its strong

sorry about the bad pun... WRF is constantly experimenting and the comments are appreciated - as far as the axle duh its a toothpick and for any serious RC its best to run a 44,60, 9 inch, 70, rockwell etc... we all know that from experience :spin1:

most of what is built here at WRF is run hard and beat up - there have been a lot of vehicles in and out of the shop so i know for a fact Chris strives for customer satisfaction... overall i thibk that the direction of WRF is just trying to innovate in a very innovative and creative automotive field... it takes a long time to be a BTF or Avalanche

Maybe after he sells a few trusses he can buy a grinder?

WRF has about 5 grinders and they get used a bunch

he does some great work - just getting off the ground most people know how that goes

Hey Bo i know since you recently re-located out to redneck land you need to become adjusted all over again :D

see we ruined you here on the west coast with our rocks and lockers but over there in hickville open diffs, mud, 35s and d-turdy fives are where its at!
