could be suspension bind in the front.

what is your front suspension setup?

so i found some coilover springs for the front and rear on ebay, so i'm going to stiffen up the rear a hair and mount the coilovers i have kicking around in the front. i also got a chance to swap in my durango box built by Old_Man, and doing that i decided to make a new steering box spacer to stiffen it all up. i also swapped in a zj fan clutch since i had it kicking around so it should stay cooler at low rpm's. so far it seems like the steering box may have fixed my death wobble, which i'm stoked about.

so i got her some new shoes today. 35x12.5x15 cooper discovery sst's, got them new, didnt want to dick around with used tires again.
hit 80mph and no signs of death wobble, so i guess it was the tires afterall!

Nice! I've heard good things about STT's but I DD my XJ for now, and do not do a lot of rocks/mud anyways. What did those set you back?

That d30 gonna hold up to your lead foot? :D I'll just make sure I'm in front of you on the trail, case you break. Lmao

LOL i was wondering that myself, but i do have the d44 in the garage.
It should be ok, i have chromos and a pretty beefy diff cover. we'll see :D

for the tires? they got them same day. didnt have them in the store, but litterally had them in 4 or 5 hours on a sunday.

who would have thought pepboys came through like that nice. Jeep sits a bit higher now looks like 37's for some reason. Also good you have back up in the garage for breakage

Chromos should be good. (if your not with jeeperjohn that is):anon: Its the ring and pinion you need to worry about now. :eyes:

Well, 2" $870 fix for death wobble ain't that bad of a deal!! Just be sure to re-sell those old tires to someone who drives a Ford I-beam suspension or something, so they won't even notice the wobble...

PS, looks nice!!! How's the power, though?

LOL they sold in like 10 minutes on CL. pretty sure they were just not balanced.

Thanks! power is ehh, but not bad. definitely good enough. i feel the weight more in the handling than anything.

Looks good! Yeah, I do recall saying a few times it could be the tires because they looked pretty worn/chunky and perhaps out of balance. As I also said you were welcome to try mine on before hand. Glad you took the plunge anyway.

As long as you take it pretty easy, have chromos w/ full circle clips, and carry spares, you should be fine on the 30. :D
