Who we got in Charleston, WV?

Gonna be out there next week for a bit. If I can swing it maybe we can hook up a little meet and greet gig. The 22nd or 23rd would probably be best for me as I should be rolling on on the 21st and will be pretty wasted after the long drive out.

Have you ever been to Charleston WVa? I can think of many other places to spend my time, my mom is from there and she even dislikes the place.

I'm 5 hours SE from there.

Funny thing about that though... Holly's parents moved there while she was in college. Her family doesn't like Charleston much either, they only moved there for her father's work.

See its usually the other way around, most folks leave WVa and never go back. My dad grew up in the coal fields of WVa and he always said that they taught them the 3 "R's" in high school, readin', rightin' and the "road to Roanoke" (they didn't teach spellin' obviously).

About half of the people in Roanoke are from WVa and the other half are from up north somewhere. What part of Roanoke did your better half grow up in?

I'll bet they move back to the "Star City" after he retires, this is a great place to live.

Nope, not back to Roanoke. They've got their eyes on Fort Royal (IIRC).

I don't know what area of Roanoke offhand but know it was near Northside High School. I've only been there once.

Weel keep your eye peeled to the forums. I am hoping to do a January or Febuary run to Mnt. City, and I am hoping the Crawl returns to Harlan this year. Crozet is on the places I want to go wheeling too!

Crozet is fun, you are never further than a 1/4 mile from camp on the whole property, so if you break its a short drive or walk. I have never stayed overnight there since it is only a 2 hour drive but I here the camp gets rowdy at night.

Yep, Crozet is on the east side of Afton Mtn on I-64, just west of Charlottsville VA. You would have to either come in on I-64 from the west or come up I-81 from the south.
