Trust me when I tell you to leave the night before and spend that night either in Las Vegas or Mesquite. Breaking the drive into two days in muy helpful.
Don't bother to bring food. City Market is a great resource to stop at before you hit the trail.
Prepare for any kind of weather. It's likely to be t-shirts during the day and medium jackets at night, but you never know what may happen.

Not sure what day we're leaving, but we did it last time as LA->LV, LV->Moab and that was pretty good. We'll do it that way again, if we actually get to go...

Man I would be tempted to go, gas prices aside. But my truck has been so finickey lately that I don't trust it on a 5 hour drive much less 10+. Ive gone through pretty much the entire cooling system in the last month and my brakes are starting to get funny again. So unless someone wants to haul my rig for me

depends on the rig, some only have a 5000 tong an some have a 10,000..

i was thinking we just hook em all together with tow bars like abig chain of xjs and tow 10 or 15 of em up there. i'd be willing to chip in at least $20 on gas.
