I hunt duck out there. Was a productive hunt but dam the drive is boring as hell and the mud there is just nasty.

At Wister or do you freelance?

In sky valley there is a shit load of them, eating my seed in the front an back yard.. Did you know a pillet gun throw the kitchen window works great.. Ha ha

Used to hunt area around Blythe/Palo Verde and also had good luck down in Brawley/El Centro. Haven't hunted (or even shouldered my shotgun!) for several years now. Seems the older I got, the hotter it got! Sitting in those fields in the blazing heat, I began to wonder "who's smarter, me or those stupid birds I'm shooting at?".........it sucks getting old---------Hans

what do you hunt in brawley/el centro? sand? ive never even seen a lizard out there!
The dove hunting had always been great down there. Fresh cut milo fields were like total dove magnets and the farmers didn't mind the hunters as long as everybody picked up their empties (shells, that is...I never drank while handling a firearm....not a good combination!) They should, however, have a cricket (not the English baseball type game.....strange sport) season down there, that place was infested with them!-------Hans

I haven't seen as many birds as usual down here in the Coachella Valley as in the past.... HELL ! they're planting too many houses...
They're here it's just getting harder to find an area open that one can hunt and not get run off. I haven't been out for a few years due to work and life.

Gerr you have a friend who opened a shop in Salton City ? or ?

FYI Temps. in the valley this weekend are supposed to be.... 109* to 114*
HELL ! it was 109* when I went out at 2130 this eve. (Oh the A/C just kicked on = $$$ = :tears: )

Good Luck to all those hunting this weekend and be carefull..... opening day is a magnet for idiots.

Good places near arrowhead for quale. Also near magic mountain off the 5, used to be called drinkwater flats, we used take the jeeps up but i beleive the roads been closed to vehicles, you should be able to hike up it.
Drinkwater is back open. I-5 to McBean Pkwy, east to Copperhill, right to San Francisquito Canyon Road, about 10 miles to the staging area. It's a pretty stout climb by most people's standards but do-able.
Oh yeah- loaded with birds yesterday.
