ive gone out to salten sea area for dove and quail but that was years ago, I remember seeing tons of birds there last year when i went to see a friend who was opening his 4x shop there

The dove hunting had always been great down there. Fresh cut milo fields were like total dove magnets and the farmers didn't mind the hunters as long as everybody picked up their empties (shells, that is...I never drank while handling a firearm....not a good combination!) Drinkwater is back open. I-5 to McBean Pkwy, east to Copperhill, right to San Francisquito Canyon Road, about 10 miles to the staging area. It's a pretty stout climb by most people's standards but do-able.ruggedjeep said:Good places near arrowhead for quale. Also near magic mountain off the 5, used to be called drinkwater flats, we used take the jeeps up but i beleive the roads been closed to vehicles, you should be able to hike up it.
