Whipped up some upgrades for the Rock Rally @ MM

1. Replaced the factory LCA brackets with 1/2 wall ones with skid plates.
2. Whipped up a partial truss. I free hand the 2x4 1/4 with the plasma. Welding to cast is always fun.
3. Welded the tubes where they enter the cast/diff housing.
4. Replaced the UCA bushings with poly ones.
5. Plumbed in a power steering cooler behind the bug eye fans I run.

Almost finished it up.

New Allied bead locks too! I haven't "used" it offroad yet. I can say it doesn't appear to leak......yet....

Yea, we moved. I got down here in November. Working as a tech for Toyota now.

When is the Rock Rally? I assume Chucky is competing this year? Who's navigating?

We're just out to have some fun. I doubt we'll be competitive since we'll be swapping in 3 drivers. The ladies and me and Shawn will be the pit crew.

Then again if the ladies do well together, who knows maybe we'll let them flog Chucky to death and Shawn and I will drink beer and be the pit crew! :laugh:

Too bad I won't be able to make it up there this year. Jenn and I are already planning on visiting family in NC that weekend. Do you know if Steve is entering Frank again? I'll hate missing it....

SeriouslyI have a full width D44 and a 14 bolt rear here. I did it because I had it out fixing the brackets and not enough time/resources before the race to swap in the other axles.

Also, I currently only run 35's and beat the leaving pee out of the locked D30 and have not broken the stock shafts, ujoints...etc..........yet

I have a hard time justifiying upgrading on the "what if" factor. When it breaks and lets me down I'll know it's the time to address the weak link.

Everyone's scenario is different though......

My 30 amp fuse now is the Ujoint straps/bolts. The last time I broke (prior to the role and LCA brackets) the H20 joints I run took out one of the strap bolts and ear on the yoke! :tears:

I'm ok with my fuse being straps but the bolts are harder to change! LOL! I may have to re-think the H20 joints! :callme:
