I have checked:
-o'reilleys
-napa
-autozone
-advance auto
-stealership ($30 for one, only 16psi i have found)
-rockauto

Every single place besides the dealership was $5, but it was a 13psi one. Where the heck do i get one?

I got mine at Napa.I don't see a part number on it but it is 6 sided and says 16lb Vented. Assembled in Mexico. These caps are as common as belly buttons. Perhaps stupid parts guys are, too.

sure they have them at napa, but they only say the 16lb cap is for the 2.5l, not the 4.0l. didn't know if that mattered.

The very early HOs had a 13 lb. cap. Later years had a 16 lb. cap. But it's fine to run a 16 lb. cap on any year. Tell the parts guy that you have a 99 XJ.

I got my Stant cap at Pep Boys.

Just called my buddy at Napa. It 's a 703-2446 or a 703-1698. I was on the phone with him for less than 30 seconds. One part number supercedes to the other. Simple.

DieselSJ hit the nail on the head.

thank you. now go into the napa parts finder online and it will tell you neither of those parts fit a '95 cherokee.

I found this one also, but according to o'reilley's parts guy, they can't order it:

I can get it from rock auto though, but rock auto doesn't list it as compatable, only the 13psi. I'm telling you, i'm not going crazy, lol.

i have gotten a few 16 lb caps from NAPA for both my 95 and 96

Why would I go there when I could go to the Napa store and buy the cap?

i am just pointing out that when i go to the napa online, it says it doesn't fit. and when i called napa asking for a 16psi, they said the only thing they had was 13psi.

i'm not saying your wrong, i am showing you where i was wrong/comfused.

I understand. These online catalogs can't think, but a good parts guy can.

Heck, I needed a new wireless keyboard and mouse on Saturday. Did my research and checked Wal-Mart's website. It said they had the set-up I wanted at my local store. Went there and there wasn't even a place on the shelf for it. I was POd!!!!

when i go to autozone with a "ridiculous" request they usually point me to the stock room to find something i like.
had a job offer there because i am there so much.

You have two options here. You can either listen to a bunch of people who own, drive, maintain, and modify Jeep Cherokees, or you can accept the word of a bunch of computer programmers and data entry clerks who have probably never driven a Cherokee, let alone worked on one. Your call. :)

If you would stop being belligerent and pay attention, you'd see that the cap dimensions listed on the Napa site are the same between the 2.5 and 4.0 engines meaning they can take the same cap. 703-2446 or a 703-1698 will work. I looked and came up with numbers 703-2447 or 703-1699 which I believe are just the house branded Stant caps.

Really these guys here do know their stuff!

The FSM specification for the radiator cap is 12-16 psi.

Some Sh*t for brains yahoo decided 13 psi was a "nice" number and put it in the computer listing. Counter monkeys are NOT KNOWN FOR THEIR INTELLIGENCE--"Duh, t'ain't on da screen, so you can't have it" is their life-mantra.

Are you going to let a counter monkey rule your life?

Think of counter monkeys like Progressive Socialists--they always want to tell you what you can and can't have based on their ignorance.
