I'm interested in going on this run, but I am still confused on exactly where and when this is happening. From what I gather, Fordyce Friday night? I've never been to this trial; where do people meet up?
Is it a "camp and wheel" or "wheel to camp" kind of thing?

if you don't know the trail you can meet up with me on Friday night and we'll drop in. the trail has 3 entrances/exits. we are entering at cisco grove on Friday, or at least I am
it is a high difficulty trail. I want to say 35's and lockers required with heavy underarmor otherwise you're not going very far very fast
if Kevin comes he's gonna have a lot of "fun" maneuvering around on 33's haha

Fordyce enter at cicso. How built is your rig? Its a camp and wheel thing.
are you familiar with Fordyce at all?

I didn't realize it was that BA of a trail. I'm on 33's with a front locker and stock axles (D30/35). I guess I'll see folks at the toys for tots run.

it's do-able just very laboring. I don't want to discourage you from coming out but it is a difficult area
I think all the guys going are on 37 or 40" tires. if Kevin or Patrick show up, they will be the little guys. and their rigs are very built up

No worries. I don't really have the armor (or skills) yet to be doing that kind of wheeling. I'd just hold everybody up, and/or be too stressed to have fun.

Ya its a little too nasty for a dana 35/30 one locker 33s. you would be more stressed than fun.
You would need a sponsor with that rig,someone that knows he will probably be towing you out the whole way.....
If you had a 8.25/44/8.8/60/9"/14b rear end and it was a locked rear id say go for it. there can be some need for some serious skinny pedal on that trail and the 35 might just go BOOM and it would probably be at the worst time, like coming out of a water crossing, in the dark, in 20 degree weather....
I am sure a skilled driver could get through with your set up , if they have ran the trail previously.
id consider pat and Kevin good drivers with built rigs(35s, lockers, gears, beefed up frames, steering, brakes, etc) and they are the small guys on this run to give you an idea .
but damon, come out to sierra fest this year! easier trails and still really fun with some difficulty for a rig like yours but nothing like fordyce

we could meet up at cisco on the way in? and go out sunday ? how early sunday are you leaving? we could wheel to committee and camp saturday night so its a quick shot in the morning.
that is, if I go. just got back from ruffstuff with DOM and heims etc

OK. I will keep you posted on the build rig is in pieces right now. Once its back together after a test drive ill see whats up. If you wanted to wait friday night I hope I can get off early and wheel in together...
although no way I am up early enough to leave by 10am...
