WHEEELING MOHAWK TRAIL AREA May 7-8th

a few of us will be out scouting some new trails and camping out in the deep woods... looking to add some new trails to our "list" so we have more/better options for our runs/events we hold in the area. including our Mohawk Madness run in september..
this is extended to NAXJA MEMBERS ONLY as it is NOT a NAXJA event...

see your EC4WDA benefits are already kicking in....

if it looks like rain it will be saturday only..

mike i'm gettin my axle under my truck by hopefully my birth day may 21 and then if i still have enough coin left over i'm be sending in for membership. then we can talk about leading some rides during the season. hope everythign goes good up there keep me posted on future scouting runs and rides.

i'm killing this run.. not enopugh people have the time off and the weather is going to suck.. i will be posting something for memorial day weekend soon..

i "chased" 3 roads today..
1st one was totally illegal and wont be run.. this one was recommended to me by a "local".. it seems these "locals" dont have as tight a grip on where they are allowed to be as they should... this one is POSTED with signs.. knuckleheads...

2nd is a good easy/moderate road with some small ledges and a good amount of mud.. lots more if there is alot of rain... totally legal..

3rd one looked very promising until i came to a "state forest boundary" sign in the middle of the forest about 1/4 mile from the end..... "no motorized vehicles" obviously doesnt include sleds i guess...

so we can add one more road to our list...

Were abouts is the 2nd one? My Jeep should be ready in about a month.

Nice photos Mike, looks like a nice day out, I've seen some of the tracked vehicles that left those marks, around by me there are some powerlines that are tough to get to, they are big mothers, the wide track helps with weight dis[lacement, and lets them "float" that muck you were drivin' in a bit. The hay is probably there to help new growth, and to help hold the soil down a bit until grass / weeds grow in.
