1958 Ford Falcon, 2dr, built it in 68...

Shame on all you guys that owned Falcons and Comets for not catching this. Falcons came out in 1960.

I can't believe I missed this thread. My first was 1950 Plymouth 4dr with a flathead 6. Bought it for $20.00 and had to replace a bad wheel cylinder. This car always reminds me of why front sway bars are a good thing. Cars back in the 50's cornered like the tires were marshmallows.

By the time I was on my third car, I had spent a total of $100.00. I've owned all of the following and probably a few more I can't remember:

1956 Chevy 4dr wagon
1956 Nash Metropolitan
1955 Chevy 2dr wagon
1963 Buick Special convertible
1969 Camaro SS
1955 Chevy 2dr 210 Sedan

'62 flatbed chev truck...got it in 1976, traded a 5 speed bicycle for it. Didn't have any brakes, which I and a friend discovered by pushing it off the hill and aiming it at the fence, rather than the creek. That 283 was nice engine, though, once we replaced the freezer plugs. When the cops got on me for not having any cover on the back tires, I nailed a couple of 2x4's to the back, and some wood paneling over the tires, every couple of weeks, they'd lean down, get burnt up by the tires, and I'd nail on a couple more pieces. Wish I had half the 'lets try it' guts I had back then...

78 firebird, pearl white with red white and blue flames painted on it. had a 305 4bbl that was immpressive, then I took it up a notch and droped a 350 in it, dressed it up with a holley 4bbl carb, and a eddlebrock crome engine kit. 2 weeks after all the mods I wrecked the damn thing on the way to school dodging a family of skunks crossing the road. LoL and that has been pretty much my luck from the start.

'87 Toyota 4x4 Blue. I had mentioned seeing it on the lot and my dad gave me the money for the down payment. I sold it a couple of years later to my father-in-law. I still wish I had kept it. :dunce:

'59 Peugeot 403 station wagon, which I got in summer of '65. My mom needed a new car, and I needed a car for a summer job. Dealer offered 100 bucks to trade, 200 not to. Great car, had bad bearings, broken rings, holes in floor, structural sag, broken springs, brake linings totally gone, ran like a watch. finally the worm-drive differential, which had been threatening to fail for some time, did so, snapping the rear driveshaft when it jammed, stranding me outside timothy Leary's castle in Millbrook, N.Y. Peace and love my a$$ - those folks were inhospitable.

Well, actually, I had two cars before that, but I never drove them. When I was about 8, my parents and I split the cost of a '41 chevy with a bad clutch (I only had 6 dollars, so they kicked in the other 6), which we parked out in the woods and I happily hacked to bits, etc. for a couple of years. Later, I also got a Model B Ford 5-window coupe in need of considerable restoration for $125. It sat in a garage for a few years, until I needed money and sold it for a grand. I wasn't equipped at the time to do it right, and I had no title, and no serial number, so I let it go. Sorry now, of course.

64 Dodge Polara 500 383 2bbl 2dr White w/black interior Bucket seats and auto on the floor.

1st was a 70 LeMans Sport, 66 CJ5, & 64 Bonneville 2dr... I think I was the only one in High School with three cars, guess the fetish started early on :looney:
Since then..... 87 Sunbird SE, 79 CJ5, 84 Isuzu Trooper II, 84 Mustang, 88 Aerostar, 86 Camaro, 94 Lebarron Conv., 96 Eclipse, 78 F250, 77 F250, 77 F600, 01 Tacoma TRD, 51 CJ3A, 69 CJ5, 76 Trans Am, 88 Jetta, 88 F350, 93 ZJ, 94 Mustang, 02 WJ, and 86XJ. I'm sure I missed a few of those buy it at the auction sell it 2 weeks later ones... Oh and bikes - not counting all the junk dirt bikes from the early teen years - 79 ds250, 86 Honda Reflex, 79 KZ750, 90 DS 350, 92 TDM 850

Mine was a 1970 Charger. :greensmok
It had a 383 and a 4bbl Carb, 4:10 gears and a 727 Transmission. Power Steering, Power Brakes, AM Radio,Sport Steering Wheel, Woodgrain Instrument Panel, Hood Mount Turn Signals, Rear Seat Speaker, black Vinyl Top, 3-Speed Wipers,Console, black Interior and gold paint Not to bad for a 15 year old kid in 1982

1990 Jeep Wrangler. 258 straight 6, 5 speed. That was three years ago. At the time I thought a Jeep Wrangler meant you were the s*** off-road, whether it had mods or not. I replaced or rebuilt everything on that Jeep within the first year except the t-case and it held at a maximum of 5 psi of oil pressure at any one time. Now I have a 1997 XJ that Ive rebuilt and replaced nothing in and it would go places stock that would've made the Wrangler cry, though when it comes time to remove the top and doors i do miss that Wrangler.

Also a 1966 Dodge Dart 2 door handed down from the parents in 1975, drove for two years until I bought my first truck and gave it back to my Dad who drove it until he retired in 1986. Had over 200K miles on it.

First car was a 1978 VW Derby. Bought it in Germany my senior year of highschool. Cost me the equivalent of $250. It was so rusted you could put your foot through the floorboard. Some auto shop time welding in new floor boards and it finally passed the "screwdriver" test. The body had more bondo holding it together than steel. Had three different colors of spray can primer. Sweet car! Nah, I don't miss it. :smoker:
