worked on replacing the alternator yesterday. Heat + stupid placement = angry hot and tired me.
the amount of things needed to be removed to get the alternator out is maddening. its still not out. its all disconnected and the pulley removed and swapped to the new unit but the damn thing just wouldnt come out.
didnt help that it was 103 when i was working on it.
Did compression test on mine:
#1: 135
#2: 136
#3: 135
#4: 135
#5: 135
#6: 117
Not really sure that is grounds for a head gasket replacement.
Either way, the Jeep still over heats when sitting still. Hopefully picking up stock cooling parts (fan shroud, clutch fan, stock electric fan, and top radiator support) so I can ditch the electric fan kit I am using.

with that little of a drop in pressure i would double check that it is indeed a problem cylinder. i've always been told 20-30psi variance on higher mileage engines is normal. could been junk built up around valve seats, or worn rings, who knows.
