What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

ordering alternator today hopefully i can get some time friday night to get it fixed before i leave town for work for a few days. also need to retorque all the suspension bolts as well.

once i get it running again i can finish up the last couple projects before i take it out and drive it a bit. rock rails and rear bumps still need to go in and then ill be done until i start the next round of upgrades.
 
A/c seems to be holding the charge
 
Plan to replace my fuel rail schrader valve with an AC valve core today. I smell gas and the only wet spot is the gauge tap with the cover off.

Also going to clean and inspect the #1 plug to see why there oil sitting in the plug well, with every thing else dry. Pulled the #1 and 2 plug last month to clean them. Also wonder if the plug is loose.

Replacing the E-fan motor for the 4th time on the Saturn SL-2, 2001 with lifetime warranty motor from Advanced auto.

Will try to find and fix the clicking relay-wiring issue that is killing the diesel battery today also.

Time to decide what to do about the camber problem on the Saturn :-(
Do I just drive it or what? Worried about tire wear.

What sensor is that?
 
Temp sensor. That might be why it was reading hot.

Doesnt the temp gauge in the dash use a different sensor? Can I order a new connector or am I headed to the junk yard again?
 
You may be able to splice in new wires but at that point, pulling a connector and splicing that in would be much easier. Yes, that is the actual coolant sensor that the computer uses so it wouldn't change the reading in the dash. The dash sensor is down on the block near the firewall.

Going to the Junk yard is easy for me, I just go to the driveway at my house, LOL.
 
Got mine buttoned up. Seems to like the new radiator. Will find out for sure during my work commute tomorrow. Need to figure out the low voltage issue and the horns. Also due for another inspection.
 
i need to move my horns. I know im going to end up tearing one off because of how low they sit with the new bumper.

think i am going to move them to the area under the radiator. just need to do it. maybe ill effort that while im doing the alternator since ill be all up in that area already.
 
worked on replacing the alternator yesterday. Heat + stupid placement = angry hot and tired me.

the amount of things needed to be removed to get the alternator out is maddening. its still not out. its all disconnected and the pulley removed and swapped to the new unit but the damn thing just wouldnt come out.

didnt help that it was 103 when i was working on it.
 
and now after watching bleepingjeeps video on it i feel like im taking crazy pills. his damn near jumped right out. i guess the frame damage on mine was screwing me. that corner is pushed up slightly.
