What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Got the rear springs I ordered. :)

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

washed the poopoo off of it, after driving through a JY looking for a set of towhooks. 7 XJ's and not a single set of brackets!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

You going to ROM? I've got a set of brackets (no hooks) I can barter out. C4x4

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

My set of Rusty's 3" springs have served me well for over 10 years.

As for tech, I installed a push button switch for my windshield sprayer. I figured that would be easier than tearing my steering column apart to fix the switch in it. Plus now it doesn't wipe seven times after its done spraying.

I guess I'm too Jeep ignorant, what are those things?

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Lets see.......2/17/2011
1. finished brake lines for my new(used) rear D44

2. removed chysler 8.25 (with the help of RMS692)

3. installed D44 (again help from RMS692)

4. made and installed new axle side shock mounts (you guessed it, help from RMS692, can you tell where I do my work at)

5. tomorrow I will change out my steering gear box, it has a few stiff spots. I know its the box as I disconnected the steering and turnt the wheel and it still has the bad/dead spots

I will add pics when I am done tomorrow........

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Ordered 1" lift shackles. Ill put those on along with the new springs to see if I want to put the relocation brackets on.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

You want the brackets. The extra flex and ride improvement is worth it!

but from what I've gathered, they don't work well with stock shackles. And if I used longer shackles the rear end will end up higher than I want it

they work fine with stock shackles, the only problem you MIGHT run into is needing to trim the rear portion of the lower box after you have set your shackle angle. Listen to JR, you want to run them

I am holding on to them and will run them at some point, but I'll just rock the shackles for now. Don't have the time or the tools to set them up right any how.
