I did see a wrangler on 31's and 3" hydrolock crossing the river at Hackett, but those river crossings are closed, so you are probably safe.

Anything deep enough in CO to need a snorkel is moving too fast to try and cross safely. I'm sure back in the day there were plenty of river crossings that were open but not any more.

I've got one crossing of the north fork of the Poudre that a snorkle would be comforting on, and that is perfectly safe to cross... then again, I've crossed it multiple times without one (though we've see our share of hydrolocked rigs there) -- just have to get the right speed to get a little wake in front of you and keep the water out of the engine compartment.

Still, for the most part a snorkel is of no use in CO

negative ghostrider -- I agree with you that 99% of the water crossings in CO don't require one, and even the 1% are likely doable with some skill. No snorkle here.

Not for what they cost. I'm more tempted by the cold air aspect of a snorkle.

I despise snorkels...... Almost as much as roof racks. 'Matter of fact..... The thread for my XJ build is titled "Snorkle be gone". And as far as the cold air aspect.... Yeah you'll get cold air.... Along with significant air flow restriction. My rig's throttle response improved after losing the snorkle.

I think lightbars are ok if they are practical for the vehicle and the lights are right. Flood lights on the roof = :roflmao: But some pencil beams up there makes sense to me.
But pencil beams here in Colorado are mostly useless unless you are at CORE or something similar. I dunno. I appreciate good visibility

I'd rather have one of those magnetic mount, remote control spotlight in any situation where a roof light is useful. But I don't wheel at night, nor do I intend to ever. Night vision is one of the first things to go, and it sucks.

Oh see. that is why I like lighting. I do a lot at night and in bad weather. So good lighting is killer.
