What is a mod you would never do to your XJ that you have done on a previous rig?

Or, where is one place where you have ended up in an oh sh!t moment in your heep that you would never want to end up again?

Let the gag stories commence. :wierd:

No mudding
No ORF front tube bumper ($100 used and gave me a spot for a winch but damn, jay lenos chin had nothing on that bumper!)
I'd look under it before purchase and walk on by after seeing the carpet instead of the floorpan
oh, and I'd put 2x6 rocker replacements on it BEFORE pivoting over/around a large number of rocks and stumps... at least I have high clearance rockers now :wierd:

sell it. :eyes:

I agree on the bushwhackers.

I'll never go bigger than 35's on an XJ again. You want to make a serious crawler, get a frame.

I said XJ, not MJ. I would love to buggy out an MJ just never again with an XJ, way too much tin foil going on with them.

Well ya there might be a lot gone. but doesn't make it a non serious crawler.
Any rig that you don't lift sky high you have to cut up and trim to make things fit.

That's just a ridiculous statement. "needs a frame to be a.serious crawler"

I didn't say it needs a frame per se, just that its way easier if it has one. You can plate the hell out of an XJ uni-frame but it winds up being heavier and still less stong than a full frame like whats already under a Wrangler. Lots of work in the rear sheet metal department, especially on a 4dr. Comp cutting a Wrangler is easy and doesn't require any changes to the inner fender well, especially on the YJ's and CJ's. Same thing up front.

MJ's are a bit different. There is still the same limitations up front, but you can just cut off the rails after the cab, plate the little bit of "frame" under the cab and make a nice tight exo around the cab. I'd actually do an MJ buggy over a Wrangler/CJ buggy minus the desire to have a back seat.

Let's see, coil spring spacers, throttle body spacer, rear wiper arm for a motor that didn't work to begin with, lift blocks, wheel spacers, just to list a few. They are all for sale if you would like to make the same mistakes I did.
