What I need to get done before Winterfest

Another item off the list!

Freshly installed 'factory sand and mud scoop...or a rock fulcrum in some cases' skid plate

Ole Frank has it rough.......

I got a new front DS and fixed the squeak in my brakes....well i hope I did. Oil change and load her up and make sure the DS fixed the popping noise and i'm northbound!

Gonna fuel up the tow rig and transfer tank on the trailer today, clean out the camper and load up some gear. Also gonna change the filter on my hydro steer reservoir.

Yep, I will be filling up the van today or tomorrow as the gas prices are on the rise. Might as well save a few pennies on this fill up.

gonna burn in the front stiffeys today and she will be ready to put on the trailer...and I may put in a new air freshner b/c it smells like a barn and mice in there..and me.

I still have a pulley squeak somewhere after replacing the harmonic balancer. Not gonna worry about it, or the wiring fault in the front clip right now.

Gave the Suburban a present of Dodge flip up tow mirrors. I was also planning on using my 4 days off to finish up the Jeep, but work decided to send me to training instead. Gotta love only one day off before a 7 day stretch.

Bought u joints for my spare front ds down at my parents... Going there tomorrow... Hopefully I can swap out the ZJ ds I'm running out back since I think that's where all my drive-line vibes are from...

Hopefully the spare ds didn't get thrown into the last scrape run... :S

Do show more pics please.

They're not 100% bolt on, but not impossible either. I let my good tow mirrors go with my pickup and I have been wanting another set for a while, especially for pulling the camper. Only regret is that these aren't power mirrors, but I got them from a buddy for cheap so I can live with it.

Got a ton done yesterday.
New front axle is in so that takes the following off my list;
half of regearing my axles, one locker, new brake pads, front bumpstops, beefy steering and a 3/4" spacer in front.

Stuff left; install CB, rear gears, JCR front bumper, paint front wheelwells, new ubolts and center pins and figure out how to remove the damn stock pitman arm that broke two pullers and still wont come off!

Cut into it carefully as deep as you can with a die grinder and smack it with a hammer. This only works if you have a replacement to put on though :D

Crank your pitman arm puller (well, the third one) down as tight as you can without worrying too much, then whack the end of the pitman arm with a 3lb sledge. I bet it'll pop off a bit and go easy from then on. If it doesn't, hit it harder. Using this trick I've NEVER had a problem pulling a pitman arm or a balljoint, and I've worked on some really, really crusty 200k mile rust belt trucks with mostly factory parts.

Oh we tried that believe me. I was over at WB9YZUs place and we through everything at it. Tried slowly turning the screw with a wrench, quickly with an airgun, heated it and nothing worked. It did not budge one tiny bit.

We went through two drill bits(one of which was $25 and meant for "hard metals") trying to drill it out to fit the bolt for my new steering by hand because we couldn't get it off to use the drill press on it. This thing was so hard we could not drill through the last 1/4". Had to bandage it together so I could drive it home. My axle swap went from a 4 hour job to an 8 hour job!
