What I need to get done before Winterfest

On the off chance you're not just making a joke here I'd be interested! For the unlikely event I don't get my new rear bumper in time.

My to-do list is not getting a whole lot shorter yet, got everything ordered just waiting for the rest of it to get here to paint everything and do a drunken weekend install-fest.

I have the stock factory hitch off an 89 if ya want it, been sitting at the side of my house since forever, I may have the nut rails for it somewhere also

That would be great, if you have the room for it. Best case scenario I won't need it for this rig, but I'd still flip you some money for the effort and I'm sure I'll have another XJ around here sooner or later. Nut strips would be great but I can make do without them if you don't run across them. Thanks Richard, got a back-up plan now!

I wouldn't bedline the rails, if you use them It will come off.

I painted my sliders first WF i went to, rock rashed the #$%^ out of them and haven't toughted them since... If you want to paint them, paint them something thats easy to coat over, i.e. flat paint, spray can liner, etc...

I put 3 coats of flat black then 3 coats of misting on duplicolor bed liner. That is some awesome stuff. It looks like they were factory textured. Turned out great, really happy with it. Now if I only had a running jeep to put them on ha

I finally got some new tie rods in and my new trac bar. Got a new tranny line in but last night it still looked like a leak. Gotta figure that out.

You guys need to look into Durango Steering Boxes.... Just saying...

Look for one from a 98 Durango w/out snow plow option...

You're welcome! ;-)

Drained my tranny today, a lot of water and a little oil. Not sure how all the h2o got in there but it is out now.

Suck dopwn winch is done, now onto the burban and trailer and maybe back to the heep b4 wf.

Made some progress today

Thanks to Ron (WB9YZU) I got lots of trimming done today and mounted up the 33s. Found a few nice sized rust holes. Still need to do the rear cut and fold, which will be more like cut out the rust and patch in new steel, but the rest of the trimming went really well. Put one little slice in the washer fluid bottle but Ron was handy enough with a blow torch to weld the plastic back together and it doesn't leak!

Still need to clean up the front wheel wells and paint them black once the filler in the pinch seam dries but I'm happy with the progress. It can wheel as is so barring a work interruption I will be at Winterfest.
