What did you do to your XJ today

Well my engine has a crack in the water jacket radiating from where the water pump is bolted back almost to the first freeze plug. So if anyone knows where I can find a low cost engine that still runs please let me know.

Weld it!! I have done 3 of them. High nickle 3/32 rod. Drill a hole at the end of the crack.

havent been on here cause i was off work for four days. put new radiator thanks bronze for letting me make a mess of your shop. then went to snow and had some family and friends good old fun. now serius wheelin for the jeeps but the toyota and f350 had issues.

Now don't give me flak but for $30 it's a lot better than stock control arms

Not the ex flex so no crazy flexing for me but I got them off a grand Cherokee at the junk yard just now. Comparing them to other stock control arms they are the same length but not to bothered by that since they probably are stronger than mine lol still figuring out if these are the 2" or 3.5" lift arms.

Started new headliner build. Aluminum plates, LED lights and lots "O" switches. Should be a fun project for the winter.

Oh you gotta post up pics of this.... there's gonna be a lot of people interested in following that!

Will do, greatest thing about this project is all the Aluminum plate and stock I have literally paid 5 bucks for. The most expensive part is the cordura nylon I am trying to source at a good price to use as the headliner cover. And the damn 260 lum LED done lights.

If anyone has tried anything like this, chime on in would dig pointers:)

Going to give my jeep a oil change, but can't decide though if I should use T3 or T5 rotella oil, I had my mind set on T3 but there is no 10w only 15w but the T5 does come as 10w. Any thoughts?

I did my oil change today too, ive been thinking of the t3 oil, but I have been running 10w30 castrol/mobil full synthetic (whichever is on sale every 3k) for 10k miles now with no issues. I figure it only has 104k on it might as well stick with whats recommended.

I wouldn't use anything with viscosity higher then 10w30. The higher the viscosity the worse the fuel milage gets.

I switched to 5w20 synthetic and got a huge improvement in milage over fleet oils.

Ill probably do the T5 then, just cautious since its a mixed blend of synthetic and conventional oil. Haven't ever used that before. Plus the T3 just the way it was describing on the container was sounding better than the T5
