What did you do to your XJ today

Is your inner sleeve falling out?

Nope.. It sticks out 1/2"

Long story.. Turns out with the nitro tube sleeves, you're supposed to freeze them before trying to install. (IRO's just slide in and weld)

They are now "Pressed in" via 16lb sludge hammer And that's as far as I could go.. They Are in the cast side.. So they are still effective..

And I actually like them sticking out that 1/2" because they now do the same thing my old alloy USA tube seals did.. Prevents debris.. The shafts butt right up to the end of the sleeves leaving no more then 1/8" gap

:dunce:

(I'm sure Darrel at KnA has told you the story...:D)

Took the new XJ up to LoLo Pass yesterday with some of my club guys for our tree run/ hot dog rost. It was my first off-road trip with the new rig and we love it. It was a good choice for a family wheeler and it did very well in the snow and ice. It has a hole lot more room than my CJ and it was a very warm n comfie trip even though it was 8 degrees up at lost lake. How can I post pics?:helpme:

Blew a fooking head gasket today... must be a lot of that going on, cuz absolutely NONE of the parts stores from Salem to Lebanon had head gasket kits I'm stock.
. had to buy gaskets separately ... guess who gets to replace a head gasket in sub-freezing temps tomorrow? THIS GUY!!! Grrrrr!!!!

I'am officialy pissed off to hell, the motherf***er previous owner, decided to put water into the coolant system instead of antifreeze. So my whole system including the block is completely froze, and trying to drain the system out the peacock valve broke soooo now I need a new radiator which I new I was going to have to do sooner or later do to the fan hit the radiator. Any one now where I can get a radiator for cheap that will work.

rock auto has some cheap new ones mine was 76 to my door dont know for sure how nice itll be. did you get it thawed? and did the freeze plugs pop out on the block?

Nope didn't get it thawed and freeze plugs are still in the block. I will have to check rock auto but I was hopefully thinking locally.

I've got one, payed $100 for it, ran it about a week and put my repaired rad back in. You want it, you got it. Let me know, I can throw it in the Jeep and bring it to work with me tomorrow.

Irs not what I did to it but what I bought for it..
Coils and leaf spring

Nice, the only thing i hate is how RE sells the leafs separately. I have my lift springs sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Just need new shocks and new lower control arms.
