Where around here do you Rally X?

PPIR is this event.

The reason for the lift is I needed tires.... and I wanted a jeep so I can camp and get to fishing spots in wyoming since I am moving in a month.

The forester strut swap and rims and tires makes for a great winter setup, make all my friends with lowered 240s and euros think I am an idiot , and then the usefullness of sand dunes and hard roads faster.

Wow. Looks fun....... but not with such a nice car that doubles as your daily driver.

I forsee badly chipped paint and a windshield needing replaced late Saturday........ :gag:

But hey....... YOLO right?

is that at the driving school right by ppir? If so be careful lots of harsh grooves/ruts there but lots of open space.
I think it looks great. Just a little less backspacing and larger tire will look great.
plus nice part is you are still running relatively cheap and common factory stuff and not coil overs or anything like that.

so my engine issues of mis firing....is fixed. it needed plug wires.
plus i did all the usual MJ /renix stuff it needed anyways.
my advice--
do all your fundamentals first so you know what you do or do not have.
someone suggested this to me and i did not heed that advice. sorry about that and
thank you

now for e test and plates !!

Flex-a-lite aluminium radiator ordered, should be installed in the next week or so depending on my health. Should put an end to the very slight (215(F)) overheat I get on a full boost acceleration run.

I know, 215(F) is not really an overheat condition... But I am attempting to get the thing to behave itself. With the 54mm pulley, replacing the 58mm pulley, on the supercharger it does want to generate a bit more heat.

At 40mph, the Heep is in OD, TC locked, 1500rpm and 2+pounds of boost. This on a slight rise. It is getting ridiculous. Virtually no throttle to get it to go.

I will be wiring the fans differently than the manufacturer wants. Will run the passenger side fan with the ignition and the other two will cycle by command of either the PCM or the Davies-Craig EWP-115 electric water pump controller.

The existing two fans (Ford two speed and Jeep) are wired to run:
Ford on low with the ignition.
Ford on high by PCM/DC command with the stock fan coming on as well. Ford also shifts to high when the A/C cycles.

well my mj made it thru emissions and i have been out near every weekend . and getting u pull n pay parts to fix small things. made a front bumper from 2x3 tube and tinted my rear window. added stickers to the window :P
today i am off to get a steering box, mine been leaking like mad. also my clutch slave is leaking down about every 4 days i need to add fluid or it no worky. been taking the MJ places where my wrangler went and the wrangler was far better but even with crap mismatched tires and alll the MJ does a damn good job of wheeling. i am open/open on a d35 rear with 307 gears. got a winch but not installed yet. thinking of rear mount under the bed and shortening the bed. thinking of painting the truck green with Montana Paints color called Toad. my bmw was painted the same green. was thinking of the ww2 german so called "ambush" paint scheme too. my armor model building knowledge is vast and camo experience is helpful. i fixed my messed up stock bench seat.
looking for a source for a large black star for the hood. any ideas?
i ll be back, gotta hit up u pull n pay for more parts this AM.

later dudes

NP231 story

so my wrangler had some vibes and noise and i thought for some reason teh 231 was the issue. turns out was not so, and with 240,000 miles i drain the t case and then discover the front cardan joint was the problem. back to the case...it had its original lubricant in it. from 2002 (this was late summer 2010). i changed it and all it had in it was thin cloud of fine metal dust. topped it off with synthetic and it is still alive and running in my TJ today.it has to be over 300,000 miles now.

one of many reasons i love my jeep. they are not perfect but yes mechanically reliable and long lasting.

Alignment done in the JK. I was concerned about the caster with the lift but everything is with-in spec. My steering wheel is straight again too.
