What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Nice! I really want to get Frank's setup... Someday...

Exhausted...

Stripped the whole front end down, moved the axle forward 1.5", got my radius arms fabbed and 90% installed today. I used RuffStuff's brackets and Heim rod end kit. I LOVE their stuff.

I'm really happy with how it came out. I did find out that one of the PO(s) installed rebuildable 3" Ballastic Joints - so naturally I rebuilt them. I cannot wait to hit the RTI ramp.

Still have to center the axle, paint and weld the upper trackbar mount to the frame. Getting an alignment tomorrow afternoon, then I should be good.

Here are some pictures...

Awy, you call that a trackbar mount???? Here is a reall trackbar mount

note the dimple died crpss and plasma crpss was because the damn thing needs a lot of help from god to not fall apart!

EDIT: Jeez that picture is huge!!!

keep an eye on those heims. Myself and a few friends have been having some real crap luck with their heims lately, and its never been a problem before.

The RuffStuff Heims?

I hated my jeep after ruffstuff heims.

Really? I find them far better quality than the QA1's that we used to buy for our racing chassis's. Then again, I only have about 1,500 miles on them so far.

I had two weeks of driving to school and one trail run and every single heim had visual play in it.
this. Specifically this.
about two years ago, totally different story. But since then I am constantly constantly being let down by them. Sister can't keep a good Heim on her track bar for more than a week or two. Its absurd.

I must have gotten some of the last good batch then. My steering heims that I put in last spring are still super tight. I figured I would have to replace them by now, but their are still good.

Ya I used to go a whole jeep (you know, about a season) on one set. But between my buddies ride and my sisters, they just don't seem to hold up anymore. Looking into other options for her ride for sure.

Same weeeeeeee, just at a lower engine speed. Looking to improve the slow speed power. The compressor is pretty much at it's maximum output. I am getting what would be 8.26 pounds at sea level.

Of course, we do not live at sea level so it is 18% less......

so i got anew job and my life is better settled than it has been in a long time.
so to the point--
thinking of Rusty's 4 link long arm kit.
http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-s...-xj-competition-4-link-suspension-system.html
i am thinking better rear axle and spring over.
and the 4 link long front. and BFG Mud tires, thinking 33's
i also want a track bar with high mis alignment heim on the frame side.
and maybe a rusty's or similar one piece tie rod.
for what it is worth my wheeling style is like an old man driving in a minefield. not afraid to winch either.
anyone run the new BFG muds?

thanks dudes
