Weekend of 10/17 Badlands

Don't forget, after the Badlands closes, there is a TREC race that follows...and I'm gonna race the xjbuggypopcan and see how long she lasts...got some racing tires (well used rims/tires to get it on), been doing some safety mods to the cage inside the buggy, and have just a few more things to button up and we'll be in good shape...

i'm hoping to be down there friday evening, do a prerun of the TREC course and then ride along for some wheelin before the race.

Team 'XJbuggypopcan Racing' sounds good to me! :D

My front locker(Lockrite) started makin' some strange noises when turning.Like someone is hitting it with a hammer..

So ,I took it apart. It looks good except the wear on the cross-shaft and the locker pieces where they contact.. Guess I'll try a good used cross-shaft and turn the locker pieces 180 ..

Hope this will buy me some time. At least to make this trip.

That took care of it...

how does watchen the race work, does it cost any thing or just the park fee?

I got site 39.

Looks like the heep needs a battery, wouldn't start last week so I put it on the charger but didn't have time to drive it. Wouldn't start today either. I think my Optima yellowtop is 8-9 years old...

On a positive note, I didn't see anything about no alchohol on the campground's website

MY F-150 battery cashed out three weeks ago...yesterday my Comanche battery crapped out. Got a Red Top for the Comanche.

There is no extra fee. If you paid to wheel that day you can watch the race.

Even better, the spectator section (from what I could tell last time) was outside the gate, so anyone could show up to watch. Actually I'm not sure if you were even allowed inside of the park unless you were on a team.

You coming out this weekend Craig?

sweet just want to make sure how much cash i need

i dont think i will be camping, gonna try for a there and back day :anon:

They haven't been charging spectators if you paid to wheel for the day. They do close the park, but you are allowed (at least from what I have seen the first three TREC races) by the main road in (to watch the sand dunes area) and down by the lower parking lot there are areas to watch as well.

I was just informed that the race is starting at 6pm. It will be 2 hours plus one more lap, so it should be in the range of 2hrs and 15 to 30 mins...

I've not been online for a bit and will be the next couple of days, so as far as the race, as I find information, I'll pass it along...

Ya stacey and i are going. You can watch the race inside the park. Just all trucks have to be in the parking lot when they tell you.

Yep, a little chilly on the willie...:D
