Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Did the front brakes yesterday, only to find out that the rear brakes needed done as well.
Had to scrounge around for a jack n stands as a friend has mine.
Got the tires off, pull the drum.... Driver side is SOAKED. Grrrrr. Looks like it just started (I'm praying just from a day, driving through a parking lot). I know wheel cylinders aren't that exspensive, but stretching the budget that extra $10 or so is gonna hurt. The headache of replacing the stupid thing isn't too bad, it's the bleeding it that gets frustrating at times. And NOT breaking the line while taking it off or putting the new one on. Not looking forward to this now. (Idiot light didn't go out after doing the front brakes).
So at this time, the xj is jacked up, rear is all apart waiting for daylight so I can start putting it back together, passenger side anyway.
 
Tried to farm out replacing the heater core and evap core to a local shop. Got a call they next day saying the mechanics were "terrified" of it and refused to touch it. Between my half-installed AFR gauge, the (completely installed) ARB switches and OX locker cable, and the cowl intake, they're afraid of putting it back wrong. Great, the jeep is now Too Hacked Up to Be Worked On by anybody but me or jeep nuts like you guys. Time to roll up the ol' sleeves. Sigh. I really didn't want to take the dash apart.

Tim is a pro at it! Is it an asap fix needed or do you have time? Maybe Tim will see this and we can help you. He came and helped me do mine. Hell if you both could work it out we could do it here. I got a couple spare rooms and a sofa.

Locked front and rear now!!! New brake pads and rotors on the rear also.

Now I need to hit the trail...

Yep. I have that problem as well. I am the only one who knows how to reinstall the custom wiring behind the dash.(Despite making it part of the dash, labeling connectors, and making it easy to do.)

Late model heater core and evaporator (do yourself a favor and do both while you're in there) isn't all that bad. Especially when you have a couple extra hands to help. That being said, i'd have to see what custom stuff you have going on now in/on/around the dash that could make it take a bit longer.

I've got everything needed to evac and recharge the AC as well. I say pick a weekend and lets knock it out at Glenn's shop. Especially since his shop is heated should it be cold outside :)

Damn, that's generous of yall. I was posting to laugh at it, I didn't expect you to offer your time and tools. I could use the help though. Schedule permitting, I'd like to take you up on it. It would have to be pretty soon though, I move out for training in Oklahoma in late February. I have this weekend (16th), next weekend (23rd) and the first one in February (6th) that I can open up pretty easily. If any of those works for yall, let me know. We can move this to PM to keep from cluttering this thread up, if yall prefer.

Also, probably implied but if yall help me with this you won't pay for food or beer the whole weekend. :viking:

Coil Rail conversion, Spark plugs/wires and injectors trying to chance down misfire CELs. Fuel trims are back to normal and it seems to idle smoother (less vibrations at idle). Time will tell. Less than 24 hours, so I still might be experiencing placebo effect.
 
We were busy taking care of new babies. Baby great danes that is.

We had 7 in all...6 normal and a runt we're bottle feeding.

1 harlequin (white with spots)
2 fawns (tan)
2 Mantles ...1 is the runt(black with white chest, muzzle, socks, and tail tip)
1 fawnequin (tan with spots)
1 blue merle (gray with spots)

Our female is a harlequin and male is a mantle...both proud parents. Well mom is proud...dad is afraid of them for now.


The 1st pic shows the 'normal' 6...and the runt is in pic 2...he's the little ...between his bigger 'twin' and the fawnequin. You can barely see him. He's a fighter though...made it 3 weeks so far.

They'll be 3 weeks old tomorrow and ready for new homes on February 16th.



 
Hey we just recently lost our dog in a tragic accident... Posted in Sierra chapter since most of them knew him. When those pups are ready can u keep me posted! My gf and I would love the runt. Not sure she could handle the others full grown haha!
 
Nice looking pups. So I put a new thermostat on the 98 Sunday only to find out it's not sealing on the head. Never seen this before. I'm guessing I found the problem with my cooling issue. I assume that part of the head is warped.... FML.

LOL about the runt. Yeah they are BIG...we kept one from our first litter...he's 11 mos old now and is 130 lbs already.

Keep in touch if your serious. We have 2 with deposits on them already. We're really hoping the runt will grow up and be somewhat normal.

Sorry about your dog. We lost 3 in a 2 month span in 2012 and 1 was my fault so I know how hard it is.
