Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Got all the boards on my gate I've been working on this morning. Opens to the back into the yard. It's 15' between the 4x4 posts with a 11.5" drop over the 15'. I should have used a 6x4 but I think it'll be alright as long as the wind doesn't do too much damage before I can work on it again. Just need to buy some handles or make some stainless ones at work, buy a lock, put up a few boards on the side, and drive some stakes in the ground for when it's closed or open.

I tore the fence down so I can hide my trailer and stuff back there and put a gate in its place. Ended up working out well because we have a pool so we need to have a fence for home insurance plus we had a concrete truck come in and repair the pool deck this summer. Keeps the neighbors from complaining about all my junk.

But you don't live in a neighborhood with a HOA. They don't say anything to us about anything other than the super tall grass every now and then. They do complain about truck exhaust though. They don't like the noise or the diesel smoke in the morning.

i fix all my neighbors cars. i have had 5 vehicles in my front yard before and mum is the word, silence is golden because its expensive

Been taking care of Deanna all weekend. The rain started yesterday and hasn't stopped yet. Her basement is seeping water up through the floor. I've been helping her and one of her sons all day with it. Lots of standing water on the road and some of it is impassable. She is on the outer edge of all this rain. I made my way to Lowe's to get a second pump to stay ahead of it. She doesn't need this right now. She put a new roof on about a year and half ago and it's leaking near the chimney. We sealed it this past summer but I think the guy did the flashing around it or the shingles around it wrong. Looks like I'll be over there most weekends when this rain stops trying to help her with it. Time to research how to stop water seeping in through concrete..... I'm guessing this just ruled me out of going to the flog this year.... :(

The rain has done a number on my allergies. Everything that affects me comes out with humidity and moisture.

I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all on Friday night, and my face felt huge. I was going to sleep in the guest room all propped up against the headboard, and then about 7 pm a friend that I graduated with called because they were passing though Nashville. So, we ended up with 6 houseguests. My youngest fell asleep in my bed with Suz, my friend and her husband were in the guestroom, their 2 boys were in one girls room, their daughter and my daughter were in her room - which left me my office. I put up the airbed but I couldn't find any way to position myself where I could clear my sinuses. So...I climbed into the backseat of the XJ. I propped myself up against the door, put a leg in to the front seat, another in the back seat and fell asleep.

Worst night sleep of my entire life! Climbed into bed last night at 8:15 and slept 12 hours! Much better.

I have no idea how people drive all day off road and then sleep in their Jeep overnight and are ready to do it again the next morning.

And Glenn - good luck with the clean up. Hope you, Andy, and the rest of the South Carolina posse come out of this thing ok. Sun finally came out this afternoon. After a week of rain it was nice to see.

Thankfully we missed the bulk of the heavy rain. All of that was originally supposed to hit here. We got about 4-5" with the majority of that falling Friday night into Saturday morning. Some flooding not too far from me, but not unusual in that area when there's a big rain like this. Nothing at all like what SC is going through.

An old college friend of mine lives on Johns Island outside of Charleston. They were hit with a Tornado 2 weeks ago, and now this.
