Woke up yesterday and Suzie said she heard a thump about 3 am and wanted me to check the basement. I went down and saw nothing amiss. I looked out back and found the thump.

It took about 7 hours of cutting to get it all chopped up, hauled to the curb for chipping, and the trunks (looks like one trunk from this angle, but there were 2 that had split about 3 feet from the base of the tree), cut and stacked. I used the XJ to move some limestone rock and to get the final part of the trunk off the lawn. I burnt through 2 chainsaw chains, and went through 3-32 oz Gaterades, 4 12 oz bottles of water, and 2 changes of clothes.

It missed the house by about 4 feet. The house is about 30 yards (60 feet) from where the tree used to stand.

Wheeled Harlan with the extreme group. About flipped three times. Had a blast even in the rain. Spit out my front DS at a stop sign in Evarts. First time that Tom Woods shaft has been out of the jeep sense I built it. Had a blast.
 
I just got back from my 3rd deployment in 2 years if that counts as getting anything done. FINALLY get to start working on my XJ i have had for several years.
 
Thanks xjtrailrider and Ghost. I've been a long time lurker on here, hopefully I can finally be able to participate in a meaningful way.
 
My wife told me today that the purple "Sport" stickers on the fenders of my red Jeep were ugly. So I made some new ones.

In hindsight I should have removed the old one before I applied the new one but I was lazy. I'll scrap it all off and make some more.

got my 1969 7hp chrysler outboard motor running and ready for the fishing trip this weekend!
going to potts on the 27th so boating this weekend and prepping the jeep next


now i just gotta fix the 1974 85hp evinrude...

Our club will be on Potts the 20-21st doing our annual summer trail clean-up and meeting/picnic.

I think we are camping on top if the weather is good. Come on out and join us!

I would really like to but i need to fix some little stuff on my jeep that weekend and get my other boat running
Im going with VA Offroad warriors the 26th and 27th.. trailering the jeep there because i want to break something so i have an excuse to put my D60's in party1:
and maybe partial exo
