The rims gave it away!
Been about a week and a half now since I got the project done, but I got the hood vents installed. Found a set of LeBaron vents. Took it out on one major drive so far - about 60 miles each way to Ed's place. Not one time did my temp gauge hit 210. I haven't put an IR thermometer on it yet, but after shutting the truck off, the hood stays tolerable to the touch, while the air coming out of the vent is pretty hot. I'm quite pleased with the outcome, and the few that have seen the Jeep with them on said that it looks pretty good also.
I started by taping off the area, then using cardboard templates to transfer the cut lines onto the painters tape. Went in 5 inches from the top line and one inch from the center crease line. Used a jigsaw with a metal blade to do the cutting. If I had it to do over, I would have cut the template on the outside of the line. I was worried about cutting it too big, but turns out that cutting too small was as big an issue because trimming the hole to fit was problematic with a jigsaw.
What were your temps before with the ac running?
Just up over 210 without air. I've only had AC on this truck for about 2 months, and only used it twice. I didn't have the AC on when I ran to Ed's on the first trip out.
I can also vouch for the TPS not liking being under the open vents. Im on my third TPS now, and also keep a spare (that didnt fit in Aarons Jeep)

nice score KP! I'm sure it will turn out killer!
I finally made it out to The Wishbone Ranch today, after about a year of living within 15 minutes of the park. It turned out to be one of the best parks I've been to, and I represented the XJ side of the hobby rather nicely, i think, going places with ease that a 2012 rubicon unlimited with a small lift had some serious problems with. I am still running my 31" all-terrains as well.
I had a blast, but I concur with everyone I've talked to that this place would be a nightmare when wet. Being dry, I went anywhere i wanted to, and my buddy's stock nissan hardbody pickup was able to at least do the main trails and the bypasses, and had a good time. Not many pics or videos were taken, because we were mostly busy trying to spot the JK and move rocks for him to climb up. :moon:
now for the pics (that i have of my jeep, anyway. there are more that i'll get when i can.)

Well, I didn't do much of anything Jeep related this weekend.
Worked late Friday, worked Saturday morning, went to an Airshow around 2pm with my family and then hung around the house Sunday until Glenn showed up with Glenn and Ben to get my trailer so he can drag the big white turd to Kentucky.![]()
Cannot wait to get the bar done and get this "big white turd" to Kentucky!
I think Bowling green is just a little over 2 hours from me, I may have to shoot down there when its dry!
lol Can I make a "Big White Turd" sticker to replace the Ghost sticker with now?![]()
Sweet! What should it look like?!
