Weekend is over...what did you get done?

This was the coldest weekend we've had in a while...

So..... what'd we do? We went Kayaking.

Me, my wife and 5 other folks showed up to the river at 7am. We unloaded and headed down the river.

It would have been a nice day on the water if the wind would have stopped blowing.

Me, April and one of my friends were the only ones to NOT fall out of our Kayaks... the other 4 were freezing...

We finally reached the end at 3:45.

All in all, it was a blast. Tho, the kayaks are in storage until it warms up. :)

Replaced the hatch struts so the hatch won't fall on my head, and reinstalled a different front driveshaft so we've got 4wd again.... we'll see if we still have vibes later......................:D

the canoe has remained stored all winter and will stay that way. i dont mind the cold, but the second the dogs get in they inexplicably just jump in the water, and a wet dog on a 40 degree day will cut it pretty short

Installed the coils in the heated shop..... adjusted the long arms some and will be looking at shock options this week.

Nice! Come out to Uwharrie next month. Looks like we're going to be out there with a booth of some sort for that Saturday for opening weekend. My junk's not really in wheeling condition at the moment but i'll have it up there. It'd be great to catch up with you!

I am gonna try ...still alot of work to do before I can head up there.....Suspension is done, have to redo my exhaust this week, just replaced the rear carrier bearings. now I need to move up to the front and get everything straight.

I also spent some time at URE this weekend hiking old trails.

I'm really hopeing to make the shindig at the end of the month.

Also, got more harnesses in the Jeep for the kids this coming weekend.

In the middle of building a roll bar for my father-in-laws little Miata play toy.

This is the only car to make my shop feel HUGE!

This is the basic design he wants.

He needs to make a monster Miata out of that car.

I agree... but he wont do it. I was shocked that he wanted me to do the roll bar. He does have some pretty sweet parts on the car, like 3 piece Japanese racing wheels, and Japanese racing exhaust that he had brought over, but hes not a gear head. He just wanted a little convertible to tool around in. I cant drive it (cant even get in it) unless the top is down. When I do drive it, I look over the windshield frame.

Gearz did a monster miata conversion. The car looked pretty cool but it was a ton of work to build.

Yeah, us big boys don't fit in that stuff. I sat in a old Citroen at the Lane motor car museum in Nashville. It had theconvertable roof with the fold-back canvas on top. I was looking out of the top of the car. People pointed and thought it was funny. The suspension was real soft too so the car bounced around quite a bit as I got in and out of it. I had fun.

Got the main hoop done, this was the hardest part as I had to transpose all the measurement to make sure it fit. I am just going by a picture and a car... Now the rest of it should build off of this pretty easily. These pics are with the seats slid back/reclined all the way. Hope im not boring anybody...

Stump, please stop posting these pics, you are reminding me how lazy and unmotivated I have been lately. Seriously though, cant wait to see it when its done. I've always thought a Miata would be a fun little car to tool around in.

LOL!

got alot done on the 2door.

d30 trussed and installed in the jeep, painted the front frame and 3link arms.
