Meh, I've lost hope on the trailer right now. I MIGHT see what I can do with it but it's far from top priority. I thought it'd be simple but it's not working out that way. I don't have time to put into a lot of work on a trailer.

On the other hand, I managed to get the shifter loose, throttle cable loose, drive shaft off and the inspection cover off the MJ. I need a little help to go much farther to pull the transmission. I think it's a bit heavier than I can handle on my back.

I pulled my tranny with t-case multiple time on my 89 5spd by myself
use a motorcycle jack as a tranny jack
and a ratchet strap so when it pops out it don't counter weigh and fall forward down to the ground
like a crossmember in the front is what I'm trying to describe to ya with the strap idea
Hardest part is installing back in getting everything back in alignment for the case to fall into place

This is just 3/4" tubing, so I used my Ridgid 368 Mechanical bender. Its a sweet little set-up, and does up to 180 degrees w/ 11 gauge (0.120") wall. This is 16 gauge wall.

I also got some 'practice' with the notcher this morning. 34 notches in all....

I almost forgot...

I unboxed my new addition to the Jeep and figured out where I'll put it. I think it'll fit nicely.

I also added a shelf in the kitchen for my tastey beverages to free up some counter space that is lacking.

an AW4 with torque converter weighs... not sure, I'd have to guess around 150-170lbs. You definitely want to pull the 4 torque converter bolts out of the flexplate so it comes with the transmission otherwise you end up with the torque converter and transmission cocked sideways and it'll jam instead of pulling off.

Wait, isn't it a 4 or 5 speed manual behind a 4cyl? Those are super easy to pull.

was gonna be my suggestion as well.

This jack has some nice castors/wheels on it when new. It may not hold up to daily use, but for a once/twice kinda job, it'll do ya fine...... even on the plywood!
