Might me right lol I would do 35 with no more than 7" ur going to run into steering, axle wrap, vibration problems but hey keep us posted have u trimmed ur fenders yet?

Yeah I made some adjustments... did some hard pondering... I think I'm sitting right around 7" now...give or take. Yeah I trimmed out both front and rear fenders already a while back.

Im still trying to figure out why he decided to post that here. Doesn't the Colorado Chapter have one of these? Maybe they lift their Jeeps 9 inches. Who knows?

THATS INSANE!!! like no one has ever lifted their Jeep 8" before... yeah i guess us "COLORADO GUYS" do lift ours 8"...lol... how old are we? I was curious as to why you posted in this particular thread. You're welcome here, we're just trying to help you understand why 9" isn't such a great idea. Especially on 33s. That's a lot of extra money spent that could go to a much better cause. Personally, I don't think you'll be happy with that much lift. I know I wasn't when I made the same mistake. I couldn't stand feeling so damn tippy. I run 35s on about 5 inches of lift and love it.

I caertainly am jealous. Id continue but I need to go wash the black X off my hand from the bar last night.

Just one other thing real quick... why is an 8" lifted XJ so unheard of? This is a VERY COMMON amount of lift... just throwing that out there.

It's not unheard of. I just won't suggest it. Rusty's even sells an 8 inch kit. I'm not sure why. Then again I'm not sure why Rusty's does half of what they do.

In my experience, 8" of lift makes for a horrible ride, very tippy, horrible steering, lots of vibes and not needed.

Why do you want an 8" lift? What advantages do you plan to gain from the extra inchage?

its kinda a long story of how i got to 8" of lift... but today i went out there and did much HARD thinking..and yes, i hurt myself. Then i started taking things apart and what not...then i put things back together...and now she is sitting basically perfectly level...and id say she is sitting around 6.5"- 7" of lift, give or take.

I removed the shackle relocation and left in the adjustable 2" shackle dropped the rear a good 2-3" and with the front i have the 6.5" rough country coils with 1 3/4" spacer w/stock isolator... the coil springs rate isn't that much.. a 22" coil spring when installed compresses down to around 17"... so yeah... i don't even know why they claim its a 6.5" lift coil spring when it really only lifts you about 5 - 5.5". So yeah.. thats what I did... I'm actually very please with it.. I think It sits just right now... if it wasn't for you HATING BASTARDS... I would have waited till i bought too small of tires before I noticed lol...thanx!!:cheers:

If you want them Lowrange... ill sell them and ship them to you, no problem. They still have about 85-90% tread left, evenly worn .... BFGood AT's 235x75R15

lol did not.... I never said I needed 8" of lift...I never said I needed anything...no one NEEDS to do anything that they do to their vehicles(unless its legitimately broken) then you repair...other than that its all personal preference.. "Cause I can"..."just because"..."why not"..."cause it equals total awesomeness!"... the excuses go on and on... and thats all they are... just excuses...not NEEDS. My excuse is because I had nothing better to do.. one thing lead to another...and BAM!!! I was sittin at 8"...kinda like when I joined the military...BAM!!
