Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Also in the middle of converting my milling machin to CNC so I can start pumping out some cool billet parts.
Let me know when you get that done. I have an Idea for something! :D

I see Planes! What ya got?

I can't wait to have a lift.

I just picked up another 5 HP on the ole XJ. Yep, put a brand new sticker on the window!

My ceiling was 9 feet before we did anything to it. I raised it to 13 feet in the middle section. The lift is a little under 12 feet tall.

Here is a build thread with plenty of pictures of the garage work.

There are MUCH more expensive lifts out there, but I have no need for them. If I ran a shop where the lift got used 10 hours a day all day long, I would have gone with a more durable [expensive] unit, but if I use this this thing once or twice a month, it should last quite a long time.

This is what it will look like when its all together:

Good to know! Next time i'm at my dads I think i'll take some measurements. I'm almost positive his shop ceiling is more then 9ft...but I could be wrong.

Yeah if you dont have a full 12-13 feet, its about impossible to install one like this in it. You can install one without the top bar (floor plate model), but then you are still limited to how high you can lift the vehicle. I firgured if I was going to buy a two post lift, I wanted to be able to walk under the vehicle easily... (all 6 foot 2inches of me)

My 10K lift is a 12' model and I still have to duck to get under it. It's a commercial shop grade unit. I built my shop with 14' eves and at least a 5" think reinforced floor to handle it.

I should gain 5 more HP when I get to Harlan! :D hope it helps my MPG's on the way back!

The Durango gear box is in and everything is all snugged up. Took it for a short run after I did it...about a half mile. Not really enough to determine a difference from stock. All I know for sure is it turned everytime I wanted it to, which is pretty much the outcome I was hoping for!!!

Tomorrow morning, going to look at a 5.9 ZJ. Guy wants $1500 for it with a bad front differential. I'm hopeful it isn't a total pile of crap.

Then later in the day I'll put some break in miles on the new box. Got to run back to the parts store and turn in the old box for the core charge and return the pitman arm puller. That'll be 14 miles on windy back roads.

Then about 10 more miles tomorrow night going to the Duck Unlimited Crawfish Boil. All you can eat crawfish and all you can drink beer, plus raffles for tools, guns, boats, and outdoor adventure trips. Crawfish and beer...mmmmmmm....hold it, what was I talking about? Gear boxes? Fast as hell ZJs? Who cares....crawfish and beer.....mmmmm.

i put some 31" mall terrains on the trooper today! i know it's not an xj, but i still have my waggy, and the trooper will be my budget expedition wagon. the tires alone look like they tripled the value of the little japanese can-on-wheels.
i don't have any way to put up pictures at the moment, but if someone who has my number will text me, i'll send them a pic to put up!

Welded on some light tabs for the front bumper and mounted my hellas on it. Also started on a snorkel and fishing rod holder.

mmmmmmm Limited! I like! What's up with the exhaust pipe? That's..uhhh...not stock lol.

Thanks. The previous owner installed a brand new exhaust from cat back and the shop left the tip looking like that. It will get changed when I get the chance.

I just spent the last 3 days at my grandparents 60th anniversary in the Poconos. The most fun was after hours at the sports bar and dance floor. It was a good weekend, I am still nursing a hangover from last night (no more vodka). The drive was 5 hours each way at 80mph and the Jeep did it without a second thought.

Worked 16 hours this weekend and sold my camper tonight. Going to pick up my new ride on Tuesday! :D
