Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Aaron's not a Yankee...he's one of them "mid westerner's"...they're an odd lot..from what I hear :D

Yeah, he's right we're weird! Plus i don't even like baseball and i hate the Yankees! I'm close enough to KY that there's a little twang 'round here! :D

i know its not the weekend but i did get the new axle all put back together and i hope today ill get it hooked up and fully installed.

Our Twang makes Kentucky Twang sound like proper English.

Last weekend and this upcoming weekend I've been working at Lowes Motor Speedway and holy crap i cant understand 90% of what these people say. Take a Redneck mix booze and you have an incomprehensible vulgar drinking machine. Not to mention about the only thing I can understand is either "WOOOOOOOOOO NASCAR" or some kind of filthy profanity there screaming in my ear everything else is just slurred into one giant word.:)

I'll be up there Sunday!

I don't doubt it one bit. I've been in the south enough to know that KY has nowhere near as much twang as JOEJUH an places like that! :D

I miss my XJ. Bumpers, sye, new rear driveshaft, XRC8 Comp winch and a handful of other junk was completed this weekend. It was dropped at my brother-in-law's today and should be on a boat to Italy in a week or two pending funds for shipping.

I replaced a brake caliper and I think I got a lot of air in the system. I bled the crap out of it to no avail - I think some air is in the master cylinder.

Can I bleed it without removing it?

Yes you can do a "bench bleed" with it on the vehicle.
Did you let it get too low? If not then the air is in the line. Did you have someone help you or did you just try to gravity bleed it?

Pulled 2 96 boosters from the Columbia Pull a part. I hope one works. Pulled a 97 GC proportioning valve too. Anyone know the difference between the disk/drum and the disk/disk valves?

No, I made doubly sure that there was fluid in the reservoir at all times. I think that air got introduced at the caliper. I started with a gravity bleed - when there was a lot of fluid in the line (the end was submerged in brake fluid) I pumped the brakes while I watched the tube. I never saw the fluid get sucked back into the caliper with air.

The pedal is crazy squishy and when I hit the brakes, it goes pssshshhhhhhhh then engages. If I do the bench bleed process with it on the truck, won't fluid pour out of the reservoir when I take off the lines?

IIRC when I saw it done they had the lid on making less fluid come out. they had lines they put on that put the fluid back in the resivior. It sounds to me like you have air in the line. Did you bleed the whole system?

Installed the new old booster. I got brake boost back!

Yeah, I bled the whole system. For the pedal to this soft, there has to be a ton of air in the system. Do you think flushing the system from the caliper (using a syringe+fluid) would be helpful at all?

Maybe I should go ahead and try to bleed MC and see if that helps any.

I would try to blead it wiht a friend. Have them pump up the pressure. Release bleader while the pedal is depressed then close after it shoots a short burst. Do that till it starts to get firm.

Am I doing this right?

Warrior Welding did an amazing job on the bumpers. They also hooked me up with a new custom rear driveshaft from Oliver's Driveshafts and fixed probably 20 random broken things on B2XJ.

That rear bumper is sick!

I think that's what I was thinking, but I think I'm a little older than you. I was thinking it looks really kewl... and I dig those rub rails below the rear side windows! Very nice:cheers:

That looks really good! Starting on a secret xj project today... he is on here but he doesn't really go wheeling with us cool kids, he's not going to the crawl, so unfortunately, I doubt many of you will get to see the work of art in person anytime soon. But I will take a lot of pictures and when its done, they will be posted on the Rock Solid web site.

Watch out Tyler your head might not fit between the bars in the Heep if you keep that up... :shhh:

@ Loki get some of Ho's relocation brackets and fix the saggin ass syndrome. Other wise it looks good. You lake of red however does not. :shhh:

old blue now has an axle under her nose. almost 100% installed......missing sway bar (dont know if im gonna run it) and need to fine tune the steering. but other than that shes driveable.

still need to do some motor work. i have a HO head with a valve job and such and a 99 intake. im thinking a bigger TB to complement the 5.0 injectors. slowly but surly it will happen. but not till after we move.
